L'Interdit Rouge
L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge, the carnal fragrance from Givenchy. Initially conceived in 1957, L’Interdit is far from an ordinary perfume. It is much more than a simple feminine fragrance and reveals on its own a part of the rich heritage of the Givenchy house. In 2018, inviting us to look back several decades, Givenchy decided to bring this perfume back into the spotlight and modernize it.

Where to buy
Since then, successes have followed one another and L’Interdit continues to bring forth other derivatives of its scent. In 2021, it becomes L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge.
L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge, a tribute to Audrey Hepburn
To better understand the world of this perfume, let us start by revisiting its history. In the 1950s, Hubert de Givenchy held an absolute passion for the actress Audrey Hepburn. It was thus natural for him to choose her as his muse. This fruitful collaboration gave rise to a very personal perfume. Initially, L’Interdit was created exclusively for the actress. Then, in 1957, Hubert de Givenchy asked her whether he could market it on a larger scale. Offended, Audrey Hepburn exclaimed: I forbid it! This is how this perfume found its name.
L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge, a perfume synonymous with passion
In 2021, L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge proves far bolder than its predecessor. It invites the woman who wears it to give in to the thrill of the forbidden and immerses us in a world as carnal as it is passionate. With L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge, Givenchy elevates transgression to the level of obsession. The result is a particularly captivating essence, akin to a carnal impulse. If L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge had to be described through an element known to all, it would probably be the forbidden fruit, alone fanning the flame of every desire!
The new shade of the Givenchy bottle
For the occasion, and to symbolize both passionate love and danger, the Givenchy bottle takes on a new translucent red color. Present throughout, on both the cap and the body, this color makes the perfume feel more scorching and invites one to cross the red line. The rest of the bottle is a clear tribute to the original from 1957. The result is a square shape with rounded corners, at once timeless and radically modern. Delicate and charismatic at once, the L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge bottle appears protected by a black grosgrain ribbon fastened around its neck, itself sealed by the house's emblem: the iconic 4G logo of Givenchy.
The floral, spicy and woody composition of L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge
All that remains now is to discover the scent of this perfume, embodied on screen by actress Rooney Mara. L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge is a fiery composition, unveiling a white bouquet of jasmine and tuberose, itself tinged with red. To achieve this, L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge is also electrified with blood orange from Sicily. Chili pepper leaves and ginger lend it its distinctive, spicy breath. Finally, two woody raw materials envelop the whole. These are patchouli essence from Indonesia and sandalwood from New Caledonia.
