Floral perfumes, femininity and romance take center stage

It is no coincidence that flowers are women's favorite gift. There is no woman who does not enjoy receiving flowers... The advantage with florals, as they are called, is that they benefit from a great many varieties of floral scents. Some fragrances are soliflore, built around a single flower, while others are orchestrated around an entire bouquet of flowers. Perfume creators regularly use flowers such as jasmine, rose, violet, lily of the valley, lilac, iris, orchid or narcissus. The natural, fresh harmony of flowers is the very essence of romance. Florals offer olfactory journeys of unmatched romance... This is why floral perfumes are so appreciated by women, however different they may be, and whatever their age! Among the best-known floral perfumes, one thinks of Anaïs Anaïs, by Cacharel, whose bouquet brings together rose, ylang-ylang, lily of the valley, lily, hyacinth and honeysuckle.

The marriage of flowers

Flowers can be paired with numerous fragrances. Thus one finds floral-aldehydic perfumes, where the floral bouquet is extended by powdery notes or by metallic animalic notes, as in the very famous perfume Chanel N°5. A floral-woody perfume generally highlights a flower, such as jasmine, rose or iris, with woody and vanilla notes. A floral-fruity perfume will bring a soft blend of flowers and fruity notes such as apple, apricot, plum, raspberry, pear... In this pairing, one thinks of the perfume J'adore, by Christian Dior, which indeed adores flowers. Here, violet, rose, orchid and champaca are very subtly combined with vanilla and blackberries. A floral/marine perfume will bring an oceanic touch to the flowers, like a light sea breeze. The floral/green pairing is very often used in perfumery, as a green, lively facet reminiscent of freshly cut grass is added to the flowers. A floral-musky perfume will bring out the musk from the very first seconds and give the flowers a slightly woody edge... In short, flowers can be paired with almost every existing scent!

This makes it easier to understand why the floral olfactory family is the most important in perfumery. Not only does it reflect femininity, but above all it allows every woman to find her own touch of romance. Long and widely used in perfumery, florals blend elegantly with numerous other fragrances.
