L'Interdit Edition Couture

Today, delving once again into this world-famous olfactory saga, Givenchy decided to blend these different worlds, namely perfumery and haute couture. L'Interdit Givenchy becomes L'Interdit Edition Couture, enhancing its bouquet of white flowers, while housing it in a bottle covered with delicate lace.

Revisiting the world of L'Interdit

L'Interdit Edition Couture tells, like its predecessors, the story of a man and a woman, or rather that of Hubert de Givenchy and the English actress Audrey Hepburn. The two shared a relationship, and it was in this context that the designer decided to create a perfume for his beloved. This exclusive creation was initially intended for her sole use, a kind of tribute, of tenderness, and of love. Little by little, Hubert de Givenchy eventually wished to share this essence and offer it to all women by making his tribute public. He first wanted to name his perfume Audrey, but his muse did not see it that way and forbade him to do so. This is how this 1957 fragrance found its name.

On the aesthetic side, L'Interdit Edition Couture is enhanced with a new collector's bottle. This comes in a cardboard box, entirely tinted in pure white on the outside, with its edges covered in fine lace. Inside, this box evokes passion with a flamboyant red hue; the L'Interdit Edition Couture bottle is this time decorated with the Givenchy logo in black lace. This is a sublime nod to the house's haute couture craftsmanship. On the neck of this bottle is also a pendant bearing the name of this new perfume paired with that of the brand.
