First of all, L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge is far from an ordinary fragrance, as it is inspired by a personal story and one of the greatest muses of the Givenchy house. In 1952, Hubert de Givenchy was regarded as a forward-thinking and visionary man. To create ever bolder and more luxurious works, he drew inspiration from one muse in particular: actress Audrey Hepburn. To thank her, he had the idea of creating a perfume for her. Then, in 1957, he decided to make this composition available to the public. Deeply offended at no longer having exclusive rights to this essence, the actress exclaimed: I forbid it! This is how this perfume found its name. L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge thus takes us back to the heart of this anecdote and offers us a fragment of the history of one of the greatest French houses.
L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge, a perfume featuring unexpected ingredients
If the history of this perfume is surprising, its scent is equally so. L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge is a very distinctive and fiery juice that reveals the image of a white bouquet tinged with red. Its composition contains woody, rounded and smooth notes. More precisely, these are Indonesian patchouli essence and sandalwood from New Caledonia. The result is an infinitely woody perfume, quickly swept through by an electrifying blood orange. A spicier accord of chili pepper leaves and ginger then makes itself known. Finally, the whole contains a more sensual, feminine note of Tunisian tuberose and sambac jasmine from India.

It preserves the DNA of the Givenchy house while taking on a new red color, in perfect harmony with its scorching scent. A timeless and modern object at once, the L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge bottle comes in three different sizes. Shaped on a square base, it is softened by a few rounded corners. The Givenchy logo, meanwhile, appears as a seal at the neck, attached to an elegant black grosgrain cotton ribbon.
