L’Interdit was born in 1957, first reserved by Hubert de Givenchy for Audrey Hepburn, and returned in 2018 with a new formula by Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Fanny Bal. This trio also signs L’Interdit Parfum, which Givenchy introduces in 2025.

More intense, more balsamic

Givenchy describes the most sophisticated, most precious and most opulent version of L’Interdit: a floral woody, balsamic fragrance, more intense than the 2018 Eau de Parfum. Mimosa absolute, bitter almond essence and a balsamic accord join the original white bouquet.

Marie-Noëlle Vekemans, writing in ELLE Belgique, sees it as another facet of a classic successfully relaunched in 2018. The Parfum version, she writes, joins the earlier ones without replacing them.

Rooney Mara reunites with Joe Wright for the L’Interdit Parfum film, set to David Lynch’s Pinky’s Dream as reinterpreted by Trentemøller.

Rooney Mara, the face of L’Interdit since 2018, also embodies the Parfum version. The launch film is directed by Joe Wright, who had already directed her for L’Interdit Absolu, with Philippe Le Sourd as director of photography.

The soundtrack features Pinky’s Dream, a piece composed by David Lynch and reinterpreted by Trentemøller. There Givenchy invites a step beyond the forbidden, around what the house calls the underground flower of L’Interdit.
