It was within one of the largest fragrance manufacturing companies that Fanny Bal began her career. She is currently part of the International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) group, which manufactures both scents for the perfume industry and flavors for the food industry. To date, IFF is the third-largest company in the sector in terms of revenue, just behind Givaudan. As one might understand, Fanny Bal had the chance to join a particularly powerful company in the olfactory world, which quickly put her in contact with great perfumers. It was there that she met Dominique Ropion, a giant of perfumery who has since become her mentor. Working at IFF since 2000, he is considered to this day one of the most prolific creators of our generation. Dominique Ropion has worked for all the greatest luxury houses such as Yves Saint-Laurent, Kenzo,
Cacharel and Boucheron, to name but a few. However, it was this time for Frédéric Malle that he signed a collaboration with Fanny Bal, in 2017.
