Angel Elixir

Angel Elixir, an eau de parfum launched by Mugler in 2023, shifts Angel’s gourmand character toward white flowers. Anne Flipo and Domitille Michalon-Bertier pair a milky bouquet of orange blossom, ylang-ylang and jasmine with a creamy sandalwood and a Bourbon vanilla infusion lifted by Amber Xtreme. Angel’s star is tinted a deep blue here.

The unexpected Angel

Mugler launched Angel Elixir in 2023, thirty years after Angel, and presents it as the soul of Angel reinvented, the Angel you don’t expect. The house dedicates it to today’s fearless women and speaks of an augmented femininity.

Two perfumers signed it, Anne Flipo and Domitille Michalon-Bertier. Mugler describes it as an original woody floral gourmand that takes what makes Angel unique and turns it into a floral Milky Way.

The first floral of the Angel galaxy

Mugler presents it as the first floral fragrance of the Angel galaxy. It revisits the gourmand and woody structure of the original eau de parfum, dressing it in three facets: a spark of metallic spices, a milky floral bouquet and a vanilla infusion carried by woods.

A new face

The launch came with a campaign starring actress Hunter Schafer, who became the face of the Angel line. The film shows her as a shooting star, transformed by the fragrance.

    Thierry Mugler’s first fragrance, Angel opened the way for gourmands in 1992. The line now counts seventeen entries: Olivier Cresp’s eau de parfum, its eau de toilette, Muse and Nova, the summer and holiday editions, and the stars of the Hunter Schafer era.

Hunter Schafer, a shooting star

Actress Hunter Schafer launched Angel Elixir in a sixty-second film conceived with Casey Cadwallader and the agency Publicis Luxe.

To launch Angel Elixir in 2023, Mugler and its creative director Casey Cadwallader entrusted the campaign to the agency Publicis Luxe. At its center is a sixty-second film starring actress Hunter Schafer, which imagines the fragrance as a shooting star able to transform the heroine.

The film opens on a long white catwalk in a black space, echoing Mugler’s fashion shows. A zoom into the actress’s iris morphs into the curve of the Earth; at the end, she catches the bottle and flings it back toward the camera, into space.

Cadwallader designed the computer-generated dress she wears in her final form, based on a drawing from Thierry Mugler’s archives. With this film, Hunter Schafer became the face of the Angel line.
