Libre Le Parfum

Released in 2022, Libre Le Parfum pushes the lavender and orange blossom of the Libre lineage toward the scorching: a saffron accord from Ourika and zesty ginger ignite the top, before a honeyed base of Bourbon vanilla, tonka bean and vetiver.

The fourth major flanker in the lineage launched in 2019, Libre Le Parfum is presented by Yves Saint Laurent as the most concentrated and long-lasting version of the collection. The house revisits the founding tension of Libre — a forthright lavender against a sensual orange blossom — to push it toward spicy warmth.

The departure from the original Eau de Parfum rests on two materials. A saffron accord, sourced from the community gardens of Ourika in Morocco, brings a creamy, glowing facet; a zesty ginger answers it in the top notes, alongside a Calabrian bergamot and a mandarin. The heart keeps the line's signature, lavandin and Provence lavender bound to orange blossom absolute. The base leaves behind the orchid of the Intense version for a honeyed accord, backed by Madagascar Bourbon vanilla, tonka bean absolute and vetiver.

The composition is signed by Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm, the two perfumers behind the line since its launch. Anne Flipo described the intention as a warm spice dressing meant to contrast with the fougère structure that is Libre's signature, with the orange blossom amplified. The launch, in fall 2022, was supported by Dua Lipa, the face of the line.
