A look back at the history of L'Interdit by Givenchy…

It all began in the 1950s, when Hubert de Givenchy was in a relationship with the British actress Audrey Hepburn. A true muse, he decided to dedicate a fragrance to her, and to reserve it for his own personal use. Nevertheless, a few years later, Hubert de Givenchy wanted to introduce his fragrance to all women. He then wanted to give his beloved's name to his composition: Audrey. But the actress did not quite see it that way… Somewhat annoyed by this desire to unveil her fragrance, she exclaimed: I forbid it! This is how the fragrance found its name. For many years, it became one of Givenchy's best-sellers. Then, in 2018, the house decided to bring it back into fashion. Here, it is precisely this new juice, presented in an unprecedented collector's case.

L'Interdit Édition Couture 2020: the floral femininity of a fragrance threaded with lace

L'Interdit Édition Couture 2020 first surprises with its bottle, a true jewel threaded with lace, as if echoing Givenchy's fashion and its couture style. Indeed, the designer particularly likes to use black lace in his garments. It is therefore quite natural that the delicacy of this pattern now appears on one of his bottles. L'Interdit Édition Couture 2020 comes in a thick glass cylinder, a guarantee of its refinement. The lace wraps around the whole, topped with a small plaque engraved with the Givenchy logo, tied at the neck.
On the scent side, L'Interdit Édition Couture 2020 owes its existence to three perfumers: Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Fanny Bal. Here, they chose to deliver an infinitely floral, romantic and luminous fragrance. It all begins with a fresh, fruity association of bergamot and pear. Then, romanticism gains ground. L'Interdit Édition Couture 2020 is enriched with an enormous bouquet of orange blossom, tuberose and jasmine. Radiant with sensuality, L'Interdit Édition Couture 2020 gradually warms up at its base. Patchouli and vetiver give it a woodier character, while ambroxan and vanilla further amplify its sensuality.
It should also be noted that two other Givenchy products have been reworked in Couture 2020 editions, decorated with lace: the N°306 Carmin Escarpin lipstick, as well as the four-powder Prism Libre set.
