Where to buy

The brand's style at the time was that of Hubert, chic and understated. Favored by women the world over, Givenchy developed elegant and timeless feminine lines. It was in 1958 that Givenchy entered the world of perfumery. Created just after L'Interdit, a fragrance dedicated to Audrey Hepburn, Givenchy launched a second masculine fragrance, Le De. Referring to his aristocratic particle, Hubert de Givenchy wanted a very particular perfume.

Le De… Such a particular name for a perfume

The Givenchy perfumes were created in 1957. While a first fragrance, L'Interdit, was being prepared, Hubert de Givenchy imagined a second one. A surprising name for a perfume, but a name that refers to Hubert's aristocratic particle. This perfume was meant essentially as a reference to haute couture. Hubert de Givenchy wanted a concentration of the ideal, without concern for any potential profitability. Hubert wanted this perfume to be a personal fragrance. Initially, Le De was intended for the brand's loyal customers. It was therefore distributed in a very exclusive manner, namely in the most prestigious stores in Paris, London and New York. The original perfume was reissued in 2007 to join Givenchy's famous Les Parfums Mythiques collection.

Le De, precious raw materials

Le De represents the perfume of yesteryear par excellence. Le De opens with aldehydic notes. These are joined by coriander, clary sage and violet flowers. The heart is ultra feminine and vibrant with beauty, with a floral bouquet composed of Bulgarian rose, white jasmine, sambac jasmine, ylang-ylang and orange blossom. Finally, lily of the valley offers its sweet lightness. The base is deep and powerful thanks to the presence of scented woods, olibanum wood, vetiver and vanilla. The Le De bottle has been given a new look and takes up the iconic codes of the bottles from this wonderful collection. Slender and elegant, the white bottle is dazzlingly beautiful… the image of contemporary luxury signed Givenchy.

The brand's second masculine fragrance, Le De refers to the particle of Hubert de Givenchy. While Le De is meant as a couture perfume, it is above all a very personal fragrance wished for by Hubert. The ingredients of the composition were chosen with care, and one cannot remain indifferent to the magnificent floral bouquet. Upon its release, Le De was a very exclusive perfume reserved for the brand's most loyal customers… Today, it is part of Givenchy's very chic Les Parfums Mythiques collection.
