Eau de Givenchy Rosée, the third chapter of a great olfactory family

The story of the new Eau de Givenchy Rosée goes back nearly 40 years. Indeed, it all began in 1980, when Hubert de Givenchy decided to create a fragrance diametrically opposed to the other essences of his time. Perfumery was then very much geared toward heady, highly opulent juices. Going entirely against this trend, Hubert de Givenchy imagined a composition full of freshness, evoking the softness of spring dew. Through it, he wanted to recall cheerfulness, joie de vivre and youth. The success was immediate and allowed Eau de Givenchy to become one of the greatest perfumes of the last century. In 2018, however, Givenchy wished to write a new chapter in its history. To do so, the house preserved its philosophy and guiding principle, while adding to it an extra measure of distinctiveness. The new 2018 Eau de Givenchy is thus more refined than before. Eau de Givenchy Rosée, for its part, appears as the third chapter of this olfactory saga, now enriched with an additional touch of femininity.

Eau de Givenchy Rosée, a scent intimate to Hubert de Givenchy

Beyond the romanticism and femininity that emerge from this fragrance, Eau de Givenchy Rosée also evokes a place dear to Hubert de Givenchy: the Clos Fiorentina, a Palladian villa located in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, acquired by the designer in 1980. Ever since, he has found there an unmatched source of calm and made it his haven of peace. It is precisely this sensation that he wished to translate into his fragrance. Eau de Givenchy Rosée is a feminine composition inspired by the fresh scent of Mediterranean gardens, swept by sea breezes. One need only close one's eyes to glimpse a lush landscape with the sea appearing on the horizon. The lovely golden pink color of Eau de Givenchy Rosée holds a fragrance imagined by François Demachy. It opens with a fresh scent of mandarin and osmanthus tea. Its heart, more feminine and poetic, is built around a trio of rose, jasmine and water hyacinth. The whole is structured with patchouli, before ending with a more streamlined touch of white musk.
