Its first ready-to-wear line “Givenchy University” met with resounding success and the brand would quickly achieve international success. In 1953, Hubert de Givenchy met a young American actress, Audrey Hepburn. In 2003, Givenchy imagined a unique fragrance “Very Irrésistible”, a fragrance that expresses this bond of friendship between Hubert and Audrey. “Very Irrésistible” has managed to reinvent itself again and again, without ever losing its way.
Very Irrésistible the Eau de Parfum, the story of an unforgettable encounter
“Very Irrésistible” tells the story of a beautiful friendship between Hubert de Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn. The Eau de Parfum “Very Irrésistible” is truly the story of a unique encounter between American glamour and French elegance. This is why the unexpected blend of rose and touches of anise conveys an improbable association between luxury and spontaneity. From this combination “Very Irrésistible” was born. One does not decide to be irresistible, one simply is. It is without calculation, without a particular mindset, a certain innocence, a unique smile. It is the twist that Givenchy claims, that little something that makes hearts flutter. No one resists the Givenchy woman, she knows how to deploy her secret weapons when needed.
The ultra sensual notes of Very Irrésistible, the Eau de Parfum
“Very Irrésistible” is just as sensual as the eau de toilette, its predecessor. It is however different, as it embraces notes that are woodier and more distinguished. The ‘Liv Tyler’ rose was specially created for this fragrance. This rose, unique to Givenchy, is velvety and caressing, almost wild. Roses are used here in overdose. “Very Irrésistible” opens on an original accord of star anise, which offers a scent of sun-warmed grass, and of star anise. These notes are then joined by those of red fruits. The rose, already present, intensifies in the heart notes with a bouquet of different roses, including the Liv Tyler rose. The heart is woody and sensual with the meeting of vanilla and patchouli. As for the bottle, it resembles an amethyst jewel, a true gemstone. While it retains the codes of its predecessor, the “Very Irrésistible” bottle is dressed in violet. This color plays in gradient, from top to bottom, topped by a transparent violet cap. Streamlined, it exudes an uncommon elegance.
“Very Irrésistible” was born from a friendship between Audrey Hepburn and Hubert de Givenchy. This particular encounter was a source of inspiration for Hubert. Elegant and refined, no one can resist the Givenchy woman. The particularly rare and exceptional bouquet of roses honors the beauty of women, a beauty enhanced by “Very Irresistible”.
