Black Opium Pink Glaze extends, in 2026, one of the most developed lines in the Yves Saint Laurent Beauté portfolio. This Eau de Parfum joins the Black Opium collection, where it stands alongside the refillable Eau de Parfum, Over Red and Le Parfum, and situates itself within a lineage the house explicitly claims: that of Black Opium, released in 2014 and presented on the brand's official website as its first feminine fragrance built on a black coffee accord, itself a descendant of Opium, launched in 1977. The naming of the line's new ambassador was announced on July 27, 2026, with the global launch set for August 12 that followed.

The creation is attributed by WWD to Nathalie Lorson, Marie Salamagne, Honorine Blanc and Olivier Cresp, perfumers at dsm-firmenich, an attribution also echoed by French retailers. Fragrantica classifies the perfume among fruity gourmand florals, while the vocabulary used by the brand emphasizes fruitiness, strawberry and coffee. The opening sets the tone: a strawberry that the house describes as 100 percent naturally extracted, backed by a green mandarin super-essence and a bergamot essence, which lend the fruit a zesty edge and keep it from turning syrupy.

The heart draws on jasmine sourced from the YSL Community Gardens of Ourika, a supply chain highlighted by the brand on its product pages, and on an orange blossom absolute whose white, honeyed facet ensures the transition to the base. The latter remains true to the line's signature: a coffee accord in dialogue with a vanilla absolute and a benzoin resinoid, rounded out by an amber woody accord and by patchouli. It is from this tension between the fruity brightness of the top and the roasted bitterness of the base that the perfume draws its character, with gourmand sweetness acting as the connecting thread.

The bottle takes up Black Opium's signature silhouette, dressed in a dark pink lacquer contrasted by a black heart, according to the official description. The brand claims clean geometric lines and a new transparency: the translucent glass reveals the pink juice, while a blackened window and the metallic Cassandre logo, placed at the center of the bottle, structure the front face. The process echoes the lacquered bottles of Over Red and Le Parfum. Four sizes are offered, from 10 to 90 ml, and the house provides an engraving service on the collection's bottles.

The campaign accompanies the arrival of Alisha Boe as global ambassador for Black Opium, a nomination revealed by WWD. The advertising film is directed by C Prinz, with a vintage diner aesthetic noted by the trade press. The actress thus succeeds Zoë Kravitz, the face of the line whose campaign, signed by Jonas Lindstroem, had been released starting August 18, 2018.
