What the house tells

Yves Saint Laurent presents Vanille Couture as a decadent, sensual rereading of Libre, radiating gold inside and out. The argument rests on an equivalence: for the Libre woman, freedom is worth gold.

A vanilla sold as a rare material

The story is about the vanilla. The house names a black Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar, hand-pollinated and cured for eighteen months, given as a premium extract, and amplified by a liquorous rum absolute.

What the house does not say

No perfumer is named for this edition. Libre was composed in 2019 by Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm, who are also credited with the later variations; Yves Saint Laurent does not name them for Vanille Couture.

Where it sits

Libre has spread through variations, from Libre Intense to Libre Le Parfum and Libre Flowers & Flames. Vanille Couture stands apart by its status: a limited run, offered in 50 ml only.
