Libre Le Parfum is the most concentrated version of Libre, launched by Yves Saint Laurent in 2022. Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm warm up the line’s duo of lavender and orange blossom with a saffron accord from the Ourika gardens in Morocco, ginger and a base of honey, vanilla and vetiver. Its red juice blazes inside the Libre bottle.
Yves Saint Laurent describes Libre Le Parfum as an intense grand floral, with spicy saffron top notes, a generous floral bouquet in the heart and a soft, velvety base. Bergamot, mandarin, ginger and the saffron accord open the composition.
Saffron and ginger
The saffron accord sets the tone: the house wants it both spicy and honeyed. Ginger heightens its liveliness, while bergamot and mandarin bring a citrus freshness to the opening that tempers the warmth of the spice.
Lavender and orange blossom
The heart keeps the line’s signature. Diva lavender, grown in France for the house, and lavandin answer the orange blossom absolute from Morocco, in a contrast between aromatic freshness and floral sensuality that saffron warms.
Honey, vanilla and vetiver
In the base, Bourbon vanilla and a honey accord melt into the warmth of vetiver, which the house links to the depth of the composition. Tonka bean completes this soft, ambery base, which extends the floral bouquet.
