Where to buy
La Vie est Belle aims to convey an image of happiness, joie de vivre, and femininity that is both gentle and independent, embodied by the magnificent Julia Roberts, the face of the campaign for the fragrance. From the star's radiant smile to the glamour of the bottle and the elegance of the fragrance, every element comes together to offer La Vie est Belle to women who embrace their femininity while remaining original. The fragrance plays with contrasts and defies the conventions of perfumery, without being entirely at odds with Lancôme's traditions.
La Vie est Belle: the olfactory and marketing concept behind the bottle
Beyond the fragrance and its bottle, the image conveyed by the scent is expressed most notably in the advertising campaigns launched alongside the fragrance's release. For Lancôme and La Vie est Belle, the 2012 launch of the fragrance was accompanied by an advertisement led with distinction and charm by the magnificent Julia Roberts.
To give the film the means to leave a lasting impression and to create an entirely new image for the fragrance, Lancôme spared no expense: a renowned director, Tarsem Singh, an exceptional 35-day shoot at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, and a script as original as it is striking. A sparkling and radiant Julia Roberts faces a high-society evening portrayed, in allegorical terms, as gray with sadness and boredom. She breaks her chains and opens herself to happiness and freedom, offering her fabulous smile that captivates and enchants every gaze.
Floral and divinely feminine fragrances for a joyful perfume!
La Vie est Belle aims to represent the woman of the 2000s: beautiful, seductive, glamorous, but also original, delightfully indulgent, and above all completely independent. Building on this strong concept, three great perfumers, Olivier Polge, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo, worked for 3 years to develop the complex composition of 63 raw materials that make up La Vie est Belle.
The result lives up to the creators' efforts, delivering, within the beautiful bottle of La Vie est Belle, an oriental with fruity and gourmand facets worthy of a beauty elixir. The top notes of orange playfully mingle with the fruity notes of blackcurrant and the pure, delicate flourishes of jasmine and orange blossom. This beautiful blend then rises toward the fullness of noble Iris Pallida notes, touched with a hint of bitter almond, then blended with intoxicating patchouli and gourmand notes of vanilla, praline, and tonka bean.
As for the bottle carrying this precious fragrance, it embodies the woman Lancôme created for this delightful olfactory concoction: delicate, glamorous, full of curves and… smiling! Designed in 1949 for the house of Lancôme by Georges Delhomme, who was asked to capture the aura of women, the crystal smile, as its creator liked to call it, seeing a smile within it, did not find the fragrance that would suit this bottle until La Vie est Belle brought it to life, giving it the precious juice it deserved and the vivid smile of the magnificent Julia Roberts, who graces every presentation of the fragrance.
La Vie est Belle is a fragrance that seeks to proudly carry the precious recipe for happiness. Whether through the smiles of the bottle or of the face of the campaign who accompanies it, or through its fragrance, at once precious, feminine and daring, La Vie est Belle remains a magnificent perfume, still cherished by a wide audience of confident and independent women!

Julia Roberts's dazzling smile embodies Lancôme's La Vie est Belle
Since 2010, the magnificent and charismatic Julia Roberts has been the face of the campaign for Lancôme's La Vie est Belle. The choice wins over everyone… Who could resist such a dazzling smile? To everyone's delight, Julia Roberts serves as an ambassador for French charm. Known for having starred in numerous films, including the iconic Pretty Woman, Julia Roberts embodies natural beauty while radiating an extra touch of soul. The director, James Gray, explained that this film expresses the refusal to be confined within the small box of convenience and the need to look elsewhere to find beauty and, more importantly, a sense of personal fulfillment, the director explained in a statement, before adding that the Julia Roberts one meets in life is the same as the one seen on screen: divine and thoroughly genuine… Who better than her could embody the beauty of the fragrance La Vie est Belle?
A French artist's song in the La Vie est Belle Lancôme advertisement
In creating an advertisement, the choice of music is essential. Here, the house of Lancôme chose a song by a French artist, Corson, titled We'll Coming Again. Between English pop and lyrical singing, We'll Coming Again is a moving film telling the story of a family drama. In this advertisement, star Julia Roberts moves through a somber setting with a surreal atmosphere. She invites the Parisian audience to follow her toward happiness. She rises and invites the guests to leave behind a coldly formal dinner. They all then find themselves in a powdery garden at the heart of Paris, amid an atmosphere as luminous as it is magical… An invitation to happiness and pleasure. To achieve this, the American actress wears an immaculate haute couture gown, embroidered with more than 700 Swarovski crystals and signed Alexandre Vauthier. Between escapism and glamour, Corson's music carries us into a rather voluptuous sillage.
American actress Julia Roberts elevates Lancôme's wonderful fragrance, La Vie est Belle. More than a perfume, La Vie est Belle is an ode to happiness and joie de vivre. It is a philosophy that opens up new possibilities, all thanks to the dazzling smile of the beautiful Julia Roberts.
