The house was thus launched with the release of 5 perfumes the same year. In 2012, the house of Lancôme presented “La Vie est Belle, l’Eau de Parfum”, an ode to happiness. A year after this success, Lancôme unveiled a variation with “La Vie est Belle, l’Eau de Parfum légère”. Finally, in 2014, “La Vie est Belle, l’Absolu” appeared, a fragrance richer and more intense than its two predecessors.
Life is more intense
Two years after the great success of “La Vie est Belle, l’Eau de Parfum”, the house of Lancôme unveiled “La Vie est Belle, l’Absolu”. While this fragrance remains an ode to happiness, to life, to femininity, it is nonetheless more intense and richer than the original. Anne Flipo, who created this perfume with Dominique Ropion, explains: to create an absolu, the notes must be enhanced, especially the heart and base notes, to make them even more powerful, more present, more entrancing, while keeping the personality of the perfume. It is a perfect fusion between the iris and the gourmand accord built for the Eau de Parfum that is thus enhanced in the Absolu. This allows the maximum of the quintessence of La Vie est Belle to be offered, in an even more powerful version.
The rich and gourmand notes of La Vie est Belle, l’Absolu
No doubt, Lancôme’s variation is more intense than the original. The gourmand iris accord has been enhanced and refined. “La Vie est Belle, l’Absolu” opens on aldehydic notes. These are quickly joined by fruity and sweet notes such as blackcurrant and pear. The heart is ultra floral thanks to jasmine, orange blossom and iris, which is enhanced here. Using a high perfumery process, the iris is for the first time concentrated at 33%. The base, meanwhile, keeps its gourmand notes with vanilla and praline. It also retains its sensual side thanks to the presence of tonka bean, patchouli, labdanum cistus and cashmere wood. The heavy-weight bottle takes up the codes of its predecessor. Its nectar is this time an intense pink color. The cap is made of zamac and the ribbon displays a metallic gray shade.
Aided by the magnificent smile of Julia Roberts, Lancôme presents “La Vie est Belle, l’Absolu”. More intense and richer than the original, Lancôme’s fragrance nonetheless has one single purpose: to make life more beautiful, again and always...
