Where to buy

Paris has always been a city cherished by the designer, and it is for this reason that several of the house's fragrances reference it. In this continuity, the very latest creation from the Yves Saint-Laurent brand is called Mon Paris. It is a floral fragrance embellished with light chypre, fruity and gourmand accents.

Paris, Yves Saint-Laurent's romantic source of inspiration

Yves Saint-Laurent has always seen Paris as a place from which to draw overflowing creativity. For him, this city is charged with passion, emotion, truth and elegance. Likewise, Paris is famous for being the city of love. It encourages people to live every moment with euphoria, while being guided by instinct, by a thirst for unprecedented experiences. This is precisely what one feels in the Mon Paris fragrance. It embodies the idea of a free and modern spirit, living out her sexuality outside of conventions and giving free rein to her emotions. It is a particularly sensual and avant-garde juice. It is as spontaneous as a fantasy, as free as a young woman can be when she is in love. With the Mon Paris fragrance, the house of Yves Saint-Laurent seems to have made a point of giving free rein to its audacity. Mon Paris is the juice of a city seized by carnal desire and yielding to mad love. Thus, it is a seductive fragrance designed for a femme fatale, yet not lacking in class and elegance for all that. In reality, its message is clear: let go and fall into the arms of a passionate love.

The contrasting scent of the Mon Paris fragrance

Mon Paris is a chypre and fruity juice created by three perfumers, namely Olivier Cresp, Dora Baghriche and Harry Fremont. It is a composition that is both subversive and innovative. It reinvents the classic chypre. To do so, two varieties of Patchouli are used. These are Patchouli from Guatemala and from Indonesia. Likewise, they are paired with three qualities of white Musk as well as Ambroxan. In this way, Mon Paris rests on a base that is both deep and of a pure, intriguing whiteness. This gives it a particularly modern and hypnotic side. What is more, Mon Paris is further enriched with Datura, a flower as feared as it is adored. It reveals a carnal scent and is accompanied by an airy Peony as well as the opulent richness of a Sambac jasmine absolute from India. Finally, the whole is further energized by tangy Bergamot from Calabria paired with Strawberry and Raspberry. As for the bottle, Mon Paris takes on a very couture silhouette, inherited from the first Paris bottle, created in 1983. It has a multi-faceted silhouette. Its thick glass reveals a sort of pink elixir within. Finally, a bow made from a delicate black silk ribbon is tied at its top. It is also adorned with two leather straps giving it a more rock edge, along with an elegant gold Cassandre.

Olfastory’s review

For Yves Saint-Laurent, Paris has always been a source of fascination. He made it the eternal symbol of love and an inexhaustible source of inspiration in both his personal life and his work. Synonymous with purity, emotion and freedom of morals, Paris was one of his most beautiful muses. He therefore decided to make it into a first fragrance, in 1983. Then, the house bearing his name chose to repeat the experience in 2016, as if to give a new avant-garde breath to this cult fragrance. So, in what way is this feminine fragrance rich in a timeless passion? Here is our review of it.

The advertising

Synonymous with romance and beauty, Mon Paris is a fragrance in the image of the capital, dear to the heart of Yves Saint Laurent. Released in 2016, Mon Paris is a fragrance that above all wants to be free. The modern and luminous fragrance highlights the capital, a symbol for the designer of his beginnings, his history and his craftsmanship. Yves Saint Laurent likes to associate Paris with its fragrances, and the capital is found within several of its fragrances such as Paris or Rive Gauche. Mon Paris tells the story of a passionate love and features two star-crossed lovers.

The star-crossed lovers of the Mon Paris fragrance

To portray this very particular love story, which plays out across the capital, Yves Saint Laurent chose a young, modern and ultra-glamorous couple. Crista Cober is a 31-year-old Canadian model. At 18, she was discovered in a shopping mall in Toronto. From then on, she went on to a string of shows and appearances in advertising campaigns. When asked what Mon Paris evokes for her, Crista Cober states that it is this almost wild feeling one feels when falling in love, when one has to trust one's heart, follow one's instinct, while feeling completely lost. In this clip that links her to her lover, Crista Cober is joined by French actor Jeremie Laheurte. Made famous by his role in the film Blue Is the Warmest Color, Jeremie Laheurte is also a 25-year-old model. With this ultra-glamorous couple, Yves Saint Laurent reinvents an intense love story that has the courage of its convictions and is lived out in the euphoria of the moment… The city of lovers here takes on its full meaning.

Mon Paris YSL, a dizzying advertising clip

Yves Saint Laurent draws inspiration from the new way in which love is lived, at the heart of this capital dear to his heart. 36 years after Paris, YSL offers a new declaration of love to the most romantic of cities. At dawn and at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, one can follow the intense romance between Crista Cober and Jeremie Laheurte. The glamorous couple gaze at and seek each other in the streets of Paris before kissing languorously. When evening comes, the fever has not subsided and the star-crossed lovers dance while caressing each other in the streets of Paris, meeting again on the rooftops of the Opera. The song accompanying them is by the legendary band U2, taken from the 1991 album Achtung Baby. What is more, the song heard in the advertising clip is an unreleased cover of the song Love Is Blindness.

A sensual and glamorous advertising clip in the image of the composition of Mon Paris. The couple of lovers wonderfully portrays this new vision of love, lived in a far more intense way.
