“J’adore l’Or”, the quintessence of beauty meets Demarchelier’s lens

After a decade of phenomenal success for what has since become the great perfumery classic “J’Adore”, the house of Dior focused on a new fragrance building on this endlessly declinable perfume: “J’adore l’Or”.

In 2010, Dior and “J’adore” sought a new direction for their “J’adore” communication campaign by offering even more: the gold of Dior! The new campaigns were thus once again shot with the sublime ambassador Charlize Theron, but this time more closely tied to the history and glories of the house of Dior.

“J’adore L’Or” thus offers a sensational olfactory journey through the historic and symbolic world of Dior’s flower fields in Grasse; the promotion of the fragrance will therefore literally offer a “bath” in gold, showcasing the sublime golden naiad Charlize Theron. The visuals were shot by the great photographer Patrick Demarchelier, who brought all his talent to bear on capturing the Dior haute couture gown as well as Charlize Theron’s ultra-feminine pose. A behind-the-scenes video of the shoot will be released to highlight the exceptional production work put into this campaign, resolutely gold, resolutely Dior!

The house of Dior at the heart of “J’adore l’Or”

True luxury demands true material and true craftsmanship, according to Monsieur Dior, and this idea of precious know-how guided the meticulous creation of the new limited fragrance “J’adore l’Or”.

The bottle of “J’adore l’Or” has this time been reworked by Dior’s gold-fingered artisans to create, from the original, a packaging entirely made by hand. The long, graceful neck of Galliano’s legendary Masai necklace is, for this “L’Or” edition, adorned with a hand-sewn thread, in gold of course! As for the packaging, it is made of a grained white paper decorated with lettering... in gold, of course, bearing simply the name of the house of Dior.

The original fragrance of “J’adore” was of course transformed under the delicate nose of Demarchy to offer, with “J’adore l’Or”, an entirely new composition that highlights the divine olfactory power of rose de Mai absolute and jasmine absolute from Grasse, grown at the Domaine de Manon, an exclusive property of Dior.

The top notes present a harmony of fruity notes and green notes that recall the birth of the original perfume. It is the rich, delicate heart that surprises with the powerful presence of Centifolia rose, “the rose with a hundred petals”, blended with the sweetness and refinement of jasmine from Grasse, itself enhanced by a few white floral notes. Finally, the soft, spicy depths of Tahitian vanilla absolute, along with the traditional smooth blend of patchouli, tonka bean and amber from the original perfume, close the olfactory discovery of “J’adore l’Or” with sensual, gourmand sweetness.

Highly concentrated and as subtle as it is opulent, J’adore L’Or is an olfactory challenge: that of the meeting between Grasse and the Orient, states Dior about “J’adore l’Or”.
