J’adore Eau de Toilette

J’adore was born in 1999, composed by Calice Becker for Dior. In the spring of 2016, François Demachy, the house’s perfumer-creator, reworked the line’s eau de toilette to heighten its clarity and freshness without leaving its floral signature. It was released as J’adore Eau Lumière.

Neroli from Vallauris

To brighten this eau de toilette, Demachy chose neroli from around Vallauris, a flower of the Grasse terroir, which he wanted warm and sparkling like the Mediterranean sun. The house sees in it the memory of the bitter orange groves of his childhood in Grasse.

For Dior, this eau de toilette extends the eau de parfum toward light: neroli enters the J’adore bouquet of flowers and gives it a personality of its own, between the blood orange at the top and the Damask rose at the base.

One perfume, two names

In France and on Dior’s international website, the perfume is now called J’adore Eau de Toilette. In the United States, its retailers still sell it as J’adore Eau Lumière, with the same three-essence pyramid.
