Rose des Vents
Rose des Vents is the rose of Louis Vuitton’s first fragrance collection, launched in September 2016 and signed by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. The house sets it in a Grasse rose field tossed by the wind, made stately by iris and chilled by pepper, before the softness of a velvety fruit. Its French description has since replaced cedar with osmanthus.

Louis Vuitton launched its Les Parfums collection on September 1, 2016, seven eaux de parfum prepared over four years according to Auparfum: Rose des Vents, Turbulences, Dans la Peau, Apogée, Contre Moi, Matière Noire and Mille Feux. Beautyscene sees them as the house’s first perfumes in seventy years.
An in-house perfumer
Coming from Firmenich, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud joined LVMH in 2012 with the task of creating Louis Vuitton’s perfumery, becoming its master perfumer. He signed all seven eaux of the 2016 collection, and Rose des Vents is its rose, built around the flowers of Grasse.
A traveler’s compass
The house recalls that the compass rose, which gives the fragrance its name, is the navigator’s indispensable instrument and the traveler’s companion, a theme that runs through the whole collection. Today it presents Rose des Vents as its best-selling and most versatile scent.

The 2016 collection is fronted by actress Léa Seydoux, photographed by Patrick Demarchelier according to Beautyscene.
Actress Léa Seydoux is the face of the campaign accompanying the Les Parfums collection in 2016, Beautyscene and Prime Beauté report. According to Beautyscene, Patrick Demarchelier photographed her in South Africa, with Marie-Amélie Sauvé on styling. The campaign covers all seven fragrances, not Rose des Vents alone.
