Far from running short of new olfactory paths, Demachy then delivered a Voile de Parfum version built around an iris absolute, a raw material as precious as it is delicate in perfumery. Dior signs its legendary line with its unmatched expertise and no longer hesitates to play on the brand’s historic codes to bring out Dior as the star of its perfume J’adore.

J’adore Voile de Parfum dons the finest gilding of Versailles

In 2011, the release of J’adore L’Eau gave rise to an absolutely spectacular advertising campaign built around the splendid face of J’adore, Charlize Theron, and the iconic fragrance. Orchestrated by Jean-Jacques Annaud, the film for this campaign unfolded in one of the most gilded places in the capital: the Hall of Mirrors.

The beautiful heroine arrives in a hurry to her Dior haute couture show and, as she moves through it, casually crosses paths with the sublime Grace Kelly, Marlene Dietrich, or the magnificent Marilyn Monroe, in an unconcealed nod to its longtime rival N°5, forever tied to the icon’s image. Naturally, these timeless icons of fashion and beauty are all dressed by Dior.

This advertisement served as the backdrop for the communication campaign created for J’adore Voile de Parfum, which was released in 2013. At that time specifically, Dior wanted to renew its sources of creativity and reconnect with the haute couture origins of Dior perfumery by evoking the precious and luxurious world of the great house. The communications director explained that couture and perfumes-cosmetics have been intimately linked since the beginning, that Christian Dior launched a perfume as early as his first show, and that this was a way of reconnecting with the house’s history and its truth.

J’adore Voile de Parfum, the sensual and so precious powdery flanker of the star fragrance, was thus set against the luxurious, entirely gilded backdrop of the world-famous Château de Versailles.

The precious Tuscan iris for a powdery creation that reveals itself as sensual…

The lovely J’adore Voile de Parfum, released in 2013, hardly reveals its many strengths through its bottle, which is entirely similar to the original J’adore essence, differing only slightly in its delicately rosy color. François Demachy nonetheless imagined J’adore Voile de Parfum as a fragrance that unites with the skin in an enveloping mist, a second-skin effect, a mirror-like effect that unfolds in its powdery heart.

The lovely J’adore Voile de Parfum opens on the powerfully floral notes of Damanesca rose essence, straight from Bulgaria or Turkey, to delight lovers of J’adore. Not to mention, of course, the usual fruity and green notes, which also offer their delicate gourmand character.

Then, in the heart, the guest of honor of this beautiful flanker finally appears: Tuscan iris makes a striking entrance, blending in beautiful harmony with the rose and the sugary notes. Finally, the slightly musky base notes of sandalwood and white musks reveal themselves under a powdery light of the fabulous iris flower, while unfolding in a delicate sun-kissed note…

This reinterpretation of the great perfumery success that is J’adore aims to be more intimate and more sensual than ever. A true scented skin, J’adore Voile de Parfum reveals powdery and musky notes that are ever more seductive and carnal. As for the delicate back of the lovely Charlize Theron revealed in the visual through her Dior gown, it reminds us that before a perfume dresses a woman, it dresses skin. Few flankers are ever awarded, yet J’adore Voile de Parfum won its Fifi Award in 2014.
