In order to announce the release of the new J'Adore opus, J'Adore L'Absolu, to the press, Dior relied on the glamorous and sensual creativity of Jean-Baptiste Mondino to create a powerful communication for the precious essence. A bold choice that proved to be a masterstroke, as both the advertisement and the visual would cause a sensation. Daring to have one of the most beautiful women in the world, dressed in Dior haute couture, undress in the rhythmic and glitzy world of a Haussmannian apartment, would prove to be a creation of marketing genius, one that would remain legendary.
As with the first campaigns, Dior presents its world and the world of its brand through the perfect Charlize Theron, who beautifully carries the values of tradition and elegance of the house of Dior. Indisputably, J'Adore L'Absolu could not have dreamed of a better embodiment of its sublime, powerfully floral qualities.
Bringing together five magnificent floral absolutes to adore an exceptional perfume
Created by Calice Becker in 1999, the fragrance J'Adore L'Absolu was dressed in its finest raw materials to offer its admirers a precious and luxurious essence of floral absolutes that would elevate the original perfume, making it greener and even more powerful. Yet apart from the delicate golden color of its juice, the precious bottle remains the same.
However, make no mistake, the magnificent burnished color of the J'Adore L'Absolu fragrance hides some beautiful surprises! François Demachy indeed wanted to rework the original perfume around the 4 key pieces of its complex architecture: the absolutes of ylang-ylang, Damascena rose, tobacco jasmine, and tuberose flowers.
Yet the top notes offer us a cocktail of green and floral notes that only let us glimpse the sublime heart about to be revealed to us. And here it is at last! The roses are lively and charming, the jasmines luminous and sensual, the tuberose and ylang-ylang flowers are meant to be enveloping and powerfully seductive. Finally, the gourmand and fruity depths, combined with white musks and woody notes, create the perfect sillage of this J'Adore woman, magnified to the extreme by a totally addictive and above all ultra-feminine J'Adore L'Absolu.

J'Adore by Dior was created in 1999 to pay tribute to Christian Dior's passion for women. A modern heritage of the house's iconic New Look style, it soon became one of the most popular essences on the planet. After being reinterpreted many times, it became J'Adore L'Absolu in 2017, offering a more intense version of its original scent, with a more exotic and narcotic warmth. Now, it is precisely this perfume that is in question today. J'Adore L'Absolu returns in a new advertisement, once again featuring the talented Charlize Theron.
Charlize Theron's return in a new Dior advertisement
Once again, the house of Dior chose the alluring Charlize Theron to showcase its perfume. It must be said that the beautiful blonde has been the brand's face of the campaign for over 14 years. Here, she appears more sensual and seductive than ever, in a film directed by Romain Gavras. The advertisement for Dior's J'Adore L'Absolu takes place in a hammam setting with an Art Deco atmosphere. This film is at once past and present, West and East. Surrounded by other women, Charlize Theron stands like a goddess. Emerging from a bath of gold, she reveals her silhouette with determination and boldness. Charlize Theron then symbolizes the image of a free, divine and powerful woman. In reality, the scene draws its direct inspiration from Ingres's painting Le Bain Turc. The director brings here his inimitable, hip hop and ultra-modern vision to the iconic perfume. Echoing the music by Kanye West, Flashing Lights, its hypnotic track, between electro rap and symphonic R&B, punctuates these moments of pure grace, building them into ever greater intensity. For Charlize Theron, J'Adore L'Absolu celebrates the place of women in our society. This advertisement conveys, she says, a feeling of solidarity, like an accomplishment of femininity. […] The J'Adore woman is an activist and a trailblazer.
Dior's J'Adore L'Absolu, a perfume of troubling intensity
But what is the actual scent of this perfume like? J'Adore L'Absolu is built mainly around flowers. It opens with an elegant and sophisticated scent of Damask rose. Then, it evolves toward a more suave and lively breath of sambac jasmine. This luminous white flower is finally taken over by the powerful and voluptuous tuberose from India. The result is an infinitely luxurious perfume, more powerful than in its first version. J'Adore L'Absolu by Dior, however, keeps its original bottle. Only its juice is slightly more amber than before. The bottle of J'Adore L'Absolu once again reveals a figure-eight shape imposed by Christian Dior's New Look. Its roundness here perfectly echoes the generosity of women. A long golden necklace also structures the whole, recalling the tradition of Massai necklaces. J'Adore L'Absolu undeniably possesses within it a sun-kissed and exotic quality combined with an incomparable luxury.
