Rose Tentation

Réminiscence built its reputation on a single material, patchouli, sold from 1970 in a shop in Juan-les-Pins. Rose Tentation extends that line by adding the rose to it, under a name that changed in 2024 without the formula moving.

A house born of patchouli

Zoé Coste and Nino Amaddeo opened a bazaar of jewelry brought back from their travels on the Côte d’Azur in 1970. The first perfume of the house, Patchouli, was born the same year and became the signature of customers who claimed their independence.

The collection widened over the decades, with a men’s version in 2000 and Patchouli Blanc in 2015. Each variation keeps the founding material as its landmark and changes only its lighting, from the earthiest to the cleanest.

A rose entrusted to Fabrice Pellegrin

Fabrice Pellegrin composed Patchouli n’Roses for the summer of 2016, with sales opening in October and a price of 93 euros for one hundred milliliters. A perfumer loyal to the house, he had already signed Tonka in 2013 and White Tubéreuse in 2014 for it.

His proposal rests on an encounter: Damask rose, ample and honeyed, and a grade of patchouli essence called cœur patchouli, whose darkest facets are set aside in favor of the cleanest ones.

A new name in 2024

In 2024, Réminiscence renamed the perfume Rose Tentation and placed it in its Les Rencontres line. The bottles and boxes of the brand were redrawn on that occasion, while the fragrance stays faithful to the one of 2016.

The house now puts the flower first: an eau de parfum called opulent and woody, where patchouli brings the earthy depth that keeps the rose from turning demure.
