In 2014, Yves Saint-Laurent decided to reinvent and modernize it, giving birth to Black Opium, a concentrate of caffeinated adrenaline. Since then, Black Opium has already seen numerous interpretations of its scent or its bottle emerge. Once again, in 2021, Yves Saint-Laurent intoxicates us with a new variation. Its fragrance remains unchanged but its bottle transforms, to the delight of both us and collectors. Get ready to welcome Black Opium Zebra…
The new bottle of Black Opium Zebra
Since this is its main novelty, let us begin by presenting the look of Yves Saint-Laurent's new bottle. Black Opium Zebra appears quite familiar to us. However, it does indeed have something new. Its look remains intact, still combining curves and the square shape. Likewise, a round porthole is still present at its center, like a window open onto its secret and mysterious world. Its unprecedented touch comes rather from its zebra-striped, glittery pattern. Its glass takes on a slightly transparent black hue, while being covered in numerous stripes in black and silver glitter. This new pattern only amplifies the rock and magnetic side of this perfume. Black Opium Zebra has donned its finest evening attire, revealing its femme fatale side to all eyes and inviting us to experience an intense night!
The unchanged scent of Yves Saint-Laurent's Black Opium Zebra
In terms of scent, however, Black Opium Zebra remains exactly the same as its 2014 predecessor. Yves Saint-Laurent chose to preserve the recipe created by perfumers Nathalie Lorson, Marie Salamagne, Honorine Blanc and Olivier Cresp. Intended for strong and captivating women, Black Opium Zebra gives rise to a thrill right on the skin. To do so, it relies on a play of light and shadow. With it, opposites attract and become one, in an olfactory explosion. Everything begins with a sip of coffee. The black coffee of Black Opium Zebra immediately draws attention and appears as a jolt paired with vibrant spices. The bitterness of this raw material is nonetheless softened by a bouquet of white flowers, composed of jasmine and orange blossom. A brighter, more radiant femininity then emerges from this fragrance. Tangy pear adds a touch of gourmand character to this perfume. Finally, in its base, Black Opium Zebra plays the femme fatale and seduction card. A smooth vanilla wraps itself in cedar and patchouli, two ingredients that give this composition greater opulence, longevity and depth.
With Black Opium Zebra, the first floral coffee by Yves Saint-Laurent reappears in full force. The electrifying energy of black coffee meets the feminine sensuality of white flowers, all revealing the mysterious and gourmand facets of vanilla. A vibrant and sensual contrast between shadow and light. Addictive? Terribly so…
