Where to buy

Today, it is one of the undisputed best-sellers of the great house of Guerlain. In turn, La Petite Robe Noire has also become a lipstick as well as a glossy nail polish called La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto. Well, as a fitting return to its roots, Guerlain decided to bring this name back into the world of perfumery. Focus on the latest essence from Guerlain: La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto.

The seductive and gourmand fragrance of La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto

Just like La Petite Robe Noire itself, its new version, Black Perfecto, was created by the house of Guerlain's official perfumer, Thierry Wasser. Of course, for this new essence, he did not wish to transform the fragrance in every respect. Thus, La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto has indeed retained the DNA of this fragrance collection. It remains a gourmand fragrance created for a woman who owns who she is. La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto embodies a modern and determined Parisian woman, who does not hesitate to stride through all of Paris with a confident, dancing step. Her boldness and joy of living are expressed through a particularly gourmand and fruity olfactory burst. A tart cherry is thus blended with the sweetness of an almond. Then, the femininity of La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto takes over and its heart is enriched with rose, the undisputed queen of feminine perfumery. However, do not think that the gourmand character has entirely disappeared! Licorice further enhances this fragrance. Sensuality ultimately takes the lead and La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto ends with a base of leather that is more rock 'n' roll than ever.

When Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire dons leather

Leather seemed to be omnipresent in this new version of La Petite Robe Noire. Indeed, as its name suggests, it is here a nod to the perfecto. The latter is none other than a leather riding jacket created in 1928 by Irving Schott. It was later adopted by motorcyclists and embodies, better than any other garment, the image one has of the black leather jacket. Stars covet it and fashion houses adore it! It has a slightly rebellious edge without lacking refinement. And this is precisely what is at play on the bottle of La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto. It takes up the visual of its predecessors and adopts the shape of the bottles of L'Heure Bleue and Mitsouko by Guerlain, two fragrances created at the beginning of the last century. It features their famous comma-shaped shoulders as well as an inverted heart-shaped cap. However, La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto has traded its former transparency for an entirely black lacquer. The result is a timeless visual, at once rebellious, impertinent, refined, and resolutely urban.

Olfastory’s review

Perfumery is a particularly vast field in which a multitude of very different fragrances follow one another. However, while some last only a season, others are regarded as true classics. La Petite Robe Noire by Guerlain undoubtedly belongs to this category. It is today one of the best-selling fragrances in the world. Yet it does not rest on its laurels and keeps reinventing itself. This is how the new La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto came about. So what about this new composition? Does it live up to all its promises and measure up to its predecessors?

The advertising

Created in 2009 by Delphine Jelk, and reworked for international launch in 2012 by Thierry Wasser, La Petite Robe Noire today ranks among the best-selling fragrances in the world. Riding this wave of success, Guerlain continues to reinterpret its best-seller. Once again, the house chose to offer a variation on its scent with a style more rock 'n' roll than ever. La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto made its appearance in June 2017 and now comes with an entirely new advertisement. Focus on the rebellious spirit of this brand-new fragrance.

The emblematic silhouette of La Petite Robe Noire

Usually, when a fragrance is launched, it comes with a world-famous face of the campaign. This may be a model, an actress, or even a singer. Well, for the very first release of La Petite Robe Noire, Guerlain decided to defy expectations. It accompanied the launch of its fragrance with a simple silhouette drawn in India ink. This silhouette is today world-famous and was created by the design duo Kuntzel and Deygas. It must be said that they were no strangers to this kind of work, having already collaborated with numerous brands and famous figures from the film industry, such as, for instance, Steven Spielberg for the opening credits of Catch Me If You Can. Here, they were tasked with transforming La Petite Robe Noire to make it less demure than before. To do so, they gave it numerous rock 'n' roll attributes. Naturally, La Petite Robe Noire now wears a leather perfecto jacket. This is a black jacket created in 1928, initially intended for equestrian use before being widely adopted by motorcyclists. Moreover, La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto also comes with a large-displacement motorcycle. Dressed entirely in leather, its rock 'n' roll side is further underscored by the presence of an electric guitar with a hard rock style, as well as a choker decorated with multiple studs. It would seem that a spirit of rebellion has swept through the house of Guerlain!

Bringing La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto to life on screen

Even though the mood of Guerlain's new clip is very different from the others, its belonging to the La Petite Robe Noire family is identifiable through its soundtrack. Indeed, the scene unfolds entirely to the song These Boots Are Made for Walkin' by Nancy Sinatra, a track accompanying each of the La Petite Robe Noire variations. The whole immerses viewers in an atmosphere very close to the world of comic books. The entire visual of this advertisement was shot in black and white, blending beautifully with the new bottle of La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto. The mood proves particularly electric, playing out under a highly stormy sky. La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto has never been so rebellious, going so far as to speed through lightning bolts and even seizing the lightning itself to transform it into an electric guitar! So do not wait, and unleash the rock 'n' roll spirit slumbering within you too!
