Black Opium Le Parfum: welcome to the sulfurous nights of Yves Saint-Laurent!

What is more evocative of youth than unrestrained nights and frenzied dancing from dusk until dawn? Do these endless celebrations and unforgettable evenings feel missed? If so, Black Opium Le Parfum by Yves Saint-Laurent is made for that! Its ambition? To unleash repressed emotions and offer new moments of nocturnal abandon! This juice possesses the most intense olfactory signature of the entire Black Opium collection. It appears as a dazzling spotlight at the heart of the dance floor. Its intoxicating coffee scent electrifies the body. More than ever, this fragrance turns the woman wearing it into a sensual heroine, transforming every night into a memorable celebration.

The coffee-vanilla duo of Black Opium Le Parfum

As before, Black Opium Le Parfum is built around coffee and vanilla. However, for this release, perfumers Nathalie Lorson, Marie Salamagne, Olivier Cresp and Honorine Blanc devised a custom vanilla, composed of four varieties of pods. Black Opium Le Parfum first relies on Planifolia vanilla from Madagascar, a feline seductress with aromas of dried fruits and rum. Madagascar vanilla pod, in turn, is deeper and woodier. The Bourbon vanilla infusion from Madagascar brings a more precious, animalic facet to the whole. Finally, Tahiti vanilla absolute is the softest of them all. The coffee, meanwhile, electrifies the whole with excess and gourmand richness.

Let yourself be seduced by the black vinyl lacquer of Black Opium Le Parfum!

As usual, Black Opium Le Parfum by Yves Saint-Laurent comes in a cubic bottle, inspired by the Japanese inro. This time, it is coated in an ultra-glossy black lacquer. It is pierced by a glittering circle, resembling a window open onto the city lights in the depths of night. The whole proves particularly chic, while also evoking the shine of a black vinyl sheath typical of Yves Saint-Laurent haute couture. Black Opium Le Parfum is available in three sizes, in bottles of 30, 50 or 90 ml, made from recycled materials.

Olfastory’s review

Opium by Yves Saint-Laurent is a fragrance that has always been deeply talked about. Created in 1977, it immediately caused controversy. Adored by some, it sold out barely a month after its release in Europe. Conversely, Americans found its illicit connotations so shocking. Yet, in 2023, the story of this essence extolling artificial paradises and debauchery still endures. Yves Saint-Laurent invites you to a new frenzied dance, with Black Opium Le Parfum.
