Givenchy revisits its perfume L'Interdit. At Givenchy, as at many other perfume houses, the time has come for looking back at memories. This major creative house has chosen, for this fall 2018 season, to offer a piece of its history.
The evolution of the L'Interdit bottle by Givenchy. In 2018, the house of Givenchy decided to bring one of its most famous perfumes back into the spotlight: L'Interdit. Initially created in 1957 as a tribute to Audrey Hepburn, it now returns to the forefront, accompanied for the occasion by an entirely new face of the campaign: the talented Rooney Mara. Celebrating the story of an extraordinary encounter, L'Interdit takes us back into the history of Givenchy. Beyond its scent, let us look at the bottle of this timeless fragrance.
The very first bottle of L'Interdit by Givenchy
Originally, when L'Interdit by Givenchy made its very first appearance, it was intended only for Audrey Hepburn, Hubert de Givenchy's muse. It was only a little later that the couturier decided to extend its sale worldwide and make his tribute public. Initially, he chose to present his floral and fresh fragrance in a prestigious bottle, a token of all his love for the talented actress. The very first bottle of L'Interdit by Givenchy consisted of a 157 g block of crystal. It combined the rigor of a cube with the softness of more feminine curves. It thus embodied Givenchy's refinement paired with the generosity of women. The whole was topped with a heavy cap set on a transparent ring.
The second bottle of L'Interdit, in 2007
In 2007, the bottle of L'Interdit by Givenchy was reinterpreted. Indeed, at that time, the perfume was relaunched in a composition close to the original to join the Parfums Mythiques collection. This fragrance was then presented in a pure and slender bottle, featuring sharp angles that contrasted with its curved body. The whole was revealed in frosted glass for more modernity and freshness. It should be noted that this bottle design was shared by all of Givenchy's Parfums Mythiques.
The new bottle of L'Interdit
This time, L'Interdit by Givenchy only borrows the name of its predecessor while its fragrance is fully modernized and reinvented. The same holds true for its bottle. It fully embraces its own singularity and stands out completely from its predecessors. L'Interdit by Givenchy from 2018 comes in a rounded flask, resting on a wide transparent base. This base is striking for the heavy weight of its glass, a token of the house's full refinement. Reflected in its glass is a soft pink-colored juice that echoes all its femininity. From then on, L'Interdit becomes as tender as a caress on feminine skin. The whole is topped with a cap that is also transparent and perfectly matched to the rest of the ensemble. A black ribbon is tied around its neck, simply adorned with a small square pendant finely engraved with the house's logo. The whole is both understated and refined, resolutely contemporary, a token of all of Givenchy's sophistication. The bottle of L'Interdit by Givenchy allows itself almost no ornamentation. It goes straight to the essential, and that only makes it more effective.
