That is the image of Sicily that he carries deep within him, and the one he breathed into this delicate fragrance. Dolce Shine, a sun-kissed fragrance brimming with optimism
Dolce Shine by Dolce & Gabbana comes in a bottle with a very feminine silhouette. Its base is made of thick, transparent glass, opening our view onto a yellow-colored juice. Its cap, in turn, takes on the same color. Its bright, flamboyant hue radiates an infectious energy. What is more, its cap, shaped like a flower, is meant to feel feminine and somewhat retro. As a fun fact, it is a tribute to Sicilian traditions. This cap draws inspiration from the almond paste sculptures made by most Sicilian pastry chefs. Here, a few small pink petals appear at the center of this cap. A black grosgrain bow is fastened at the neck, while the word Shine appears as though handwritten on the front.
With its yellow glints, Dolce Shine immediately conveys a highly optimistic image. The woman who wears it is a vibrant woman, who smiles at life and cheerfully enjoys every happy day. In reality, Dolce Shine evokes the joyful flutter of the heart at the arrival of warm days, when the first rays of sunshine appear. Far more than a simple fragrance, Dolce Shine offers the promise of an emotional and sensory journey to Sicily.
The luminous, woody fragrance of Dolce Shine by Dolce & Gabbana
To create this fragrance, the house of Dolce & Gabbana enlisted perfumer Marie Salamagne. She chose to open the composition with a fruity blend, before moving toward more floral aromas, then warming things up with wood. The opening of this composition combines mango and quince, for a velvety, gourmand result. Grapefruit also brings freshness to this opening. Then, jasmine and orange blossom form a generous bouquet of white flowers. A salty accord blends into the whole to heighten the sensuality of Dolce Shine. This fragrance closes with a trio of white musk, blond wood and Australian sandalwood. The result is a perfectly sun-drenched juice, a tribute to Italian Dolce Vita.

2020 is off to a very strong start for the Italian house Dolce & Gabbana. Indeed, the house presents its Dolce Shine fragrance, one of the most anticipated compositions of the year, and already celebrated for its sun-kissed look and its fruity, luminous scent. To round off its launch, Dolce & Gabbana also decided to treat itself to a new face of the campaign. The Italian brand has set its sights on one of the moment’s new it girls, and more specifically on the daughter of the legendary couple formed by Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel… So, what of Deva Cassel’s very first role as ambassador, the new face of Dolce Shine?
Dolce Shine, an essence inspired by the Italian sun
Like many fragrances signed by Dolce & Gabbana, Dolce Shine draws inspiration from Italian douceur de vivre and Dolce Vita. This resurfaces from the very sight of its bottle. Its yellow bottle evokes the luminous rays of the sun, while a flower blooms at its top, doubling as its cap. Dolce Shine is a floral, fruity, sun-kissed fragrance that first combines the sweetness of mango with the sharper acidity of grapefruit essence. Its heart, in turn, expresses a more floral femininity built on jasmine and orange blossom. A salty ozone accord recalls sea spray. Finally, Dolce Shine closes with a creamy, smoky base of sandalwood and musk.
Deva Cassel, new face of the campaign for Dolce & Gabbana
On screen, Dolce Shine is embodied by Deva Cassel, who here takes on her very first role as ambassador. Although barely 15 years old, Deva Cassel truly lights up the screen and her beauty shines from every angle! Deva Cassel has inherited her mother Monica Bellucci’s long brunette hair and full lips. Her piercing gaze, meanwhile, comes from her father, Vincent Cassel. Perfectly at ease in front of the camera, Deva Cassel seems to have done this her whole life. Her mother spoke about this in the pages of Madame Figaro: she has that kind of character, strong-willed, very adaptable. She is made for travel; changes cause her no stress at all. She feels at ease everywhere. She is a cosmopolitan. Here, Deva Cassel chose to set down her bags in the small Italian village of Ravello, perched atop Mount Torello, on the Amalfi Coast. Deva Cassel walks its cobbled streets, holding a bouquet of colorful flowers in her hands. Her white dress flutters in the wind, as does her wavy hair.
