Where to buy

Miu Miu, Miuccia Prada’s brand, announced its entry into perfumery as early as 2013 with Coty, its licensee. Its first perfume, simply named Miu Miu, reached stores in September 2015; the house now sells it under the name L’Eau de Muguet and still presents it as its first feminine fragrance.

The composition is signed by Daniela Andrier, of Givaudan, who drew on the embroidered lilies of the valley of a Miu Miu dress from fall 2011. She told Refinery29, according to Beauty Packaging, that she made more than twelve hundred trials before settling on the formula.

Miuccia Prada took part in designing the bottle as well as the scent. The eau de parfum is sold in thirty, fifty and one hundred milliliters; according to Journal du Luxe, the Miu Miu license has belonged to L’Oréal since 2024.

What the house says

The house describes a green, musky floral that opens the door to its contrasted femininity, effortless and sophisticated, able to capture the energy of a young spring. It speaks of a reinvented lily of the valley, gone rogue with earthy, peppery akigalawood.

It promises a joyfully floral fragrance, musky and clean, freshened by a touch of green, whose energy stems from the most fragrant flower of spring.

The advertising

Stacy Martin, 2015

Photographed by Steven Meisel, the actress Stacy Martin embodies Miu Miu’s first perfume in 2015, alongside a black and white kitten.

The launch campaign, photographed by Steven Meisel, is fronted by the French-British actress Stacy Martin, who had already appeared in two of the house’s fashion campaigns. A black and white kitten plays with the bottle in the images.

Caroline Javoy, of Coty, saw in Stacy Martin a beauty at once timeless and modern, young, elegant and graceful, with a dark side, like the Miu Miu girl. Her makeup, winged eyeliner included, was by Pat McGrath.
