Miss Dior Eau de Toilette

In early 2019, Dior introduced a new Miss Dior Eau de Toilette, composed by François Demachy, then the house’s perfumer-creator. It replaced an older eau de toilette of the same name; Angela van Rose announced the change as early as January 2019 and noted an Italian release on March 1.

Demachy says he wanted to unfold the round, luminous beauty of the centifolia rose, bright and light, and to freshen it with a new lily of the valley accord. The house sees it as a floral whirlwind, a waltz around the Grasse rose beneath a veil of lily of the valley that it likens to a tulle petticoat.

The choice of lily of the valley speaks to the house’s history. Diormag, Dior’s magazine, presents it as Christian Dior’s favorite flower and his lucky charm of choice. The Grasse rose comes from the fields of Dior’s exclusive partners, picked by hand every year in May.

Its place in the line

The eau de toilette is the lightest in the Miss Dior family, alongside the eau de parfum, the 2024 Parfum and the Essence. It is sold as a 50 and 100 ml spray, and as a roller-pearl for touch-ups.

Angela van Rose saw in the pre-2019 eau de toilette the last fragrance in the line that stayed close to Miss Dior Chérie. Demachy’s version moves clearly away from it, so much so that she advises smelling it before buying.
