J’adore Eau de Toilette is the eau de toilette of Dior’s J’adore line, launched in the spring of 2016 as J’adore Eau Lumière, the name it still carries in the United States. François Demachy sets neroli grown near Vallauris within the J’adore bouquet, between a top note of blood orange and a base of Damask rose. A luminous floral, presented in the line’s amphora.
Dior sums up the formula in three essences. Blood orange opens the composition: the house describes it as the fruitiest of citrus fruits, juicy and tart like a candy. Neroli from Vallauris forms the central note, radiant and sparkling.
Damask rose essence forms the base. The house lends it a sensual, milky character that brings comfort to the composition and ties it to the line’s floral signature.
The 2016 composition
In 2016, Dior announced a richer formula: magnolia, softened with vanilla and lifted with lemon, met Damask rose, and sandalwood rounded out the base. The house no longer names them in its current presentation.
What the label declares
The ingredient list names bitter orange flower water, drawn from the flower that gives neroli. It includes three UV filters, two antioxidants, BHT and tocopherol, and three colorants, red, yellow and violet, which tint the juice.
