Mon Paris Lumière by Yves Saint-Laurent, the fragrance of a passionate love inspired by the most romantic city there is: 1957. At just 21 years old, Yves Saint-Laurent triumphantly began his career at the heart of Paris, taking over the reins of the prestigious house of Dior. From that day forward, and for his entire life, Yves Saint-Laurent remained irrevocably tied to the city known as the City of Light.
Yves Saint-Laurent was a complex figure, at once discreet yet highly creative, sometimes shy and yet so exuberant. On his own, he sought to reflect all of Paris, a city so poetic and so cosmopolitan. This is no doubt why Yves Saint-Laurent held an absolute love for the city known as the City of Light. In 2016, to pay tribute to him, the house of Yves Saint-Laurent decided to create a fragrance named Mon Paris. In 2022, this chypre and floral juice gains in lightness. The fragrance becomes an Eau de Toilette. Here is our review of Mon Paris Lumière by Yves Saint-Laurent.

Mon Paris Lumière by Yves Saint-Laurent, spokesperson for love
Mon Paris Lumière by Yves Saint-Laurent first seduces us through its message. Indeed, it reminds us how beautiful Paris is and how many desperate loves it has witnessed pass by. This fragrance is enough to make us imagine the most beautiful Parisian landscapes: the small cobbled streets, stage for two lovers walking hand in hand, the languorous kisses exchanged on the square in front of the Eiffel Tower, the intimate picnics in the Tuileries garden, the marriage proposals on the Pont des Arts. Mon Paris Lumière by Yves Saint-Laurent is a true postcard. What is more, it wonderfully embodies free love, scoffing at constraints and conventions. In this sense, it is also an avant-garde, sensual fragrance. It invites one to love with boldness. We like this panache and are charmed by it!
The chypre scent of Mon Paris revisited with lightness
Mon Paris Lumière by Yves Saint-Laurent belongs to the same olfactory category as the very first Mon Paris from 2016. In other words, it is a chypre and floral fragrance. However, its former power is today lightened. It becomes more airy. To achieve this, it is built around a flower very rarely used in fragrances: white lotus. Suffused with water and sun, this raw material wonderfully captures the brilliance of loving feelings. Then, Mon Paris Lumière by Yves Saint-Laurent is also infused with jasmine from India, paired with the romanticism of Damask rose and the hypnotic datura flower. Note that, despite its lightness, Mon Paris Lumière does not lack persistence. Its longevity is amplified by an addition of cedar, white patchouli, moss and amber. Its fruity liveliness is enhanced by lemon and blackcurrant. All the olfactory facets seem to unite to win over our heart.
A romantic bottle, connected to the couture world of Yves Saint-Laurent
Finally, when it comes to the bottle, it must be acknowledged that the bottle of Mon Paris Lumière by Yves Saint-Laurent is absolutely superb! Its glass walls are sculpted like those of a precious stone. Its bow resting on an organza knot gives it absolute elegance. What is more, this knot is finely pleated. Its transparency lets us glimpse a nude fabric evocative of feminine skin. The result is a particularly romantic visual.
