Paris Première Rose 2016

Yves Saint-Laurent was always fascinated by the city of Paris. Indeed, it was in this place that he built his entire career and spent the better part of his time. Passionate about art in general, he drew all his inspiration from this capital to create his finest works.

Where to buy

As such, he decided to pay tribute to this city considered the capital of love. To do so, he created, in 1983, a perfume soberly named Paris. Having become an iconic juice, it has, since 2010, been customarily revisited each spring. Here, then, is the 2016 version…

The new Yves Saint-Laurent bottle

If the Paris Première Rose perfumes from the house of Yves Saint-Laurent are particularly anticipated, it is first and foremost for their bottles. Indeed, these change every year and delight collectors and fans of the house alike. This time, it is a matter of an intense black lacquer. Naturally, the Paris Première Rose bottle is reminiscent of the original 1983 Paris perfume bottle. It is a glass globe with multiple facets. Once transparent, it is now completely opaque. Originally, its cap was adorned with pink and gold. Now, the pink appears flashier. As a bit of trivia, this case draws more particularly on the Love Cards that Yves Saint-Laurent used to send to those close to him every year. This is because his favorite motifs were the heart and the star. And it is precisely these that are found on the new design of Paris Première Rose. It appears somewhat vintage while retaining today's modernity. Likewise, it has a slightly girly touch that suits it perfectly.

The very feminine scent of Paris Première Rose

As its name indicates, the perfume Paris Première Rose is built around Damask rose. This juice was created, just like the original Paris, by perfumer Sofia Grojsman. However, for this occasion, she was joined by Dominique Ropion. Together they created a sort of enormous floral bouquet tinged with light. It all begins with a combination of violet leaf and neroli. From this emerges a powdery and sun-kissed scent. Likewise, the whole is rounded out by an accord of wild rose. Then, at its heart, the rose lets its femininity literally burst forth. This rose draws its lightness in parallel from lily of the valley and is further enriched with peony. Finally, the whole leaves behind a clean sensation emanating from white musk. Sandalwood, on the other hand, gives structure to the whole and lends it greater depth while retaining a creamy quality as soft as a caress.
