Flower by Kenzo Ikebana

Flower by Kenzo Ikebana Eau de Parfum: the zen arrangement of an eternal spring. First piece of the Ikebana trilogy, Flower by Kenzo Ikebana (2023) transposes Japanese floral art into the poppy olfactory universe of the 2000 classic. House perfumer Dora Baghriche here chooses sakura, the cherry blossom, a symbol of renewal, as the star of the bouquet. Infused with Sencha tea and anchored on a hinoki-cedar base, the fragrance delivers a silky, luminous, refined sillage: a zen breath amid urban tumult.

Composition: the olfactory pyramid

Top: sakura petal & Sencha tea

A Japanese cherry blossom infusion pairs with a steamed Sencha tea; a few drops of bergamot add a zesty freshness.

Heart: Damascena rose & rosy peony

The velvety Damask rose converses with a translucent peony, creating a pastel bouquet evoking a minimalist ikebana arrangement.

Base: hinoki wood, white musks & cedar

Hinoki, the sacred cypress of temples, diffuses a dry resinous note, softened by white musks. A refined Atlas cedar extends the cocooning sillage (≈ 8 h on skin).

Bottle: powdery pink stem, floating petal

Slender tube, translucent pink glass, screen-printed sakura petal; refillable via unscrewable base.

The famous Flower stem is tinted a powdery pink recalling the cherry blossom lanes of Kyoto. The screen-printed petal seems to float in space. The unscrewable pump accepts the 200 ml refill, cutting glass use by ≈ 45% over two cycles.

Filmed by Patrick Demarchelier Studio, the video shows dancer Mika Otsuka picking a cherry blossom petal and transforming it into a bottle. Piano-koto soundtrack “Sakura Whisper”. Tagline: “Compose Your Quiet Bloom”.

Reviews & verdict

Ikebana softens the spicy projection of the original Flower to glide toward a tea-floral serenity. On warm skin, the sakura reveals an almond-like point; in cool weather, the Sencha tea comes across crystalline. Perfect for the office, morning meditation or a spring walk.
