While Trésor is a perfume that came into being at the dawn of the 21st century, its history is much older. Indeed, as early as the late 1980s, the Lancôme brand affirmed its wish to reconnect with its prestigious past as a Grand Parfumeur. It thus delved back into its archives to unearth forgotten perfumes. This is how the name Trésor was borrowed from a juice that had been launched much earlier, in 1952. Just like its predecessor, Trésor is an incarnation of eternal femininity. It is a harmonious juice, infinitely chic and as precious as a woman's smile. It reveals to us all the most beautiful facets of women, unveiling her in love, fulfilled, serene and simply happy. Trésor was designed as a great perfume crafted to forever mark the history of perfumery. Thus, it is endlessly rediscovered and reveals itself differently depending on the woman who wears it. Lancôme's elegance in a perfume
This masterpiece of perfumery is the work of Sofia Grojsman. She placed the noblest flower at the center of her composition: the Otto rose. This rose comes from the distillation of the precious Damask rose grown in Bulgaria. It embodies absolute femininity and naturally possesses several facets. It is at once floral, rosy, honeyed, spicy and powdery. Syrupy, powerful and suave, it has very often inspired perfumery. Thus, by using it, it is a little as though Trésor were paying tribute to feminine perfumery in general. Around it, other ingredients gravitate. Lilac and lily of the valley bring more tenderness to this perfume. Peach delivers a gourmand and juicy smoothness. Iris and heliotrope give it unmatched refinement. Finally, the base is as soft as a caress, plunging us into a cloud of amber, musk and sandalwood. Trésor is a jewel. Moreover, it is contained in a diamond-shaped bottle, a nod to the first crystal jewel that once dressed the 1952 Trésor.

It has also treated itself to some stunning advertisements to cement its image, such as a 2013 television campaign, showcasing the talented Penélope Cruz in a thrilling love story.

Among the most acclaimed actresses in Hollywood, Penélope Cruz lends her face to Lancôme's cult perfume, appearing for the brand as a veritable treasure. Indeed, in 2011, when Lancôme announced this collaboration, the news once again propelled Trésor by Lancôme into the spotlight. Having been the face of L'Oréal Paris since 2006, the Madrid-born actress chose to join the very exclusive circle of Lancôme ambassadors, alongside Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, Juliette Binoche and Inès Sastre.
The love story evoked by the advertisement for Trésor by Lancôme
The advertising campaign for Trésor by Lancôme draws a parallel between two very different careers: that of Penélope Cruz, model and actress, and that of a boxer. Numerous similarities are drawn between the daily lives of the two protagonists of this advertisement. The day begins with their two hands parting ways. While he trains before stepping into the ring, Penélope Cruz gets ready by applying makeup. Both seek fullness and serenity in their gaze. Penélope Cruz is intoxicated by the scent of a rose, while her beloved wears it as a tattoo on his chest. Then comes the moment to take the stage. Both are dressed in a cape, though Penélope Cruz's is more glamorous. At the end of the day, the two lovers meet again in Paris, the city of eternal love. The 90-second television campaign ends with the most beautiful of messages: Love is a treasure.
A campaign directed by Rob Marshall
To produce this advertisement, the house of Lancôme brought together a prestigious team. This campaign is signed by the 6-time Oscar-winning director Rob Marshall. Note that he had already worked with Penélope Cruz on the films Nine and Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Here, he was joined by his Australian collaborator Dion Beebe, a lighting specialist recognized as one of the best cinematographers in the world, whose talent has been honored with numerous accolades, such as the Academy Award for Best Cinematography and the British Academy Film Award in 2006 for the film Memoirs of a Geisha.
