To symbolize absolute femininity, Yves Saint-Laurent chose the queen of flowers to place at the center of his composition: rose. However, he did not opt for a Parisian rose but for a flower characteristic of his childhood spent in Oran. It is a fresh rose, paired for the occasion with sparkling, energizing notes of bergamot and honeysuckle. Violet, for its part, lends Paris its powdery tonality while being accompanied by the floral and spicy character of hawthorn and carnation. A few jasmine petals also complete this opening, adding a more opulent richness. A hint of blackcurrant marks the impertinence of the Yves Saint-Laurent woman while adding to it a sun-kissed radiance from orange blossom. There, Yves Saint-Laurent added one of the noblest ingredients in perfumery: iris. This powdery plant is then supported by a woodier accord coming through in its base. Finally, Paris ends with a pairing of sandalwood and vetiver wrapped in honey.
