Trésor by Lancôme is a cult fragrance in women's perfumery, which was born in 1990. A symbol of love and emotion, it unfolds in its scented breath floral, fruity, powdery or amber notes. Thus, it shifts in turn from one register to another, while honoring the natural scent of rose, the star ingredient of the house of Lancôme. Designed to make women more radiant, this precious perfume lets a breath rich in emotion float in the air. But what about its bottle?
The history of an iconic perfume from the house of Lancôme
To better understand the visual of this bottle and the history of Trésor by Lancôme, it is worth delving back into Lancôme's archives. Indeed, in the late 1980s, Lancôme expressed the desire to bring its prestigious past as a great perfume creator back into the spotlight. As a reminder, Lancôme has existed since 1935 and stands as one of the oldest French perfume brands. Reconnecting with tradition, Lancôme decided to delve into its archives and bring back one of its most beautiful perfumes: Trésor. This juice was originally created in 1952. The version we know today is a modern reinterpretation of its rose scent, accompanied by a new visual, some elements of which are inspired by its predecessors.
The first Trésor bottle, in 1952
To capture the full richness of its perfume, the house of Lancôme decided, in 1952, to design an exceptional perfume bottle, with unprecedented refinement, but very difficult to produce. In this case, the Trésor by Lancôme bottle was sculpted like a diamond and had 75 facets, hand-polished. Two unequal faces also completed the whole: one flat, the other in the shape of a pyramid. Entirely transparent, this bottle captured light and cast it back in amber hues. The whole resembled a sparkling jewel, presented in a purple case. Note also that this original bottle was brought back into the spotlight by Lancôme in 1997, to celebrate the year-end holidays.
The new Trésor by Lancôme bottle
While drawing on this historic visual, Lancôme decided, for its 1990 perfume, to simplify the manufacturing of its bottle. Still evoking a diamond, its bottle now takes on a more pyramidal silhouette. More specifically, it is a triangle whose angles have been rounded. Exactly like its predecessor, it has a completely transparent glass, playing with light to reveal all the warmth of a carnal, amber juice. Just like the previous Trésor, this one is a jewel to be cherished. Its shape has the advantage of naturally fitting into the palm of the hand. Its base is enhanced with a black hue, also present at its neck. The whole is topped with a transparent crystal diamond shape. Note also that its pink-peach color recalls that of feminine skin. The message is clear: Trésor by Lancôme is only waiting to settle on the skin to spread all its richness.
