Sophia Grosjman is one of the most recognized noses on the planet, responsible for numerous olfactory successes. The beginnings of Sophia Grosjman

Sophia Grosjman was born in the Soviet Union and was very quickly fascinated by nature, the smell of wildflower fields and the scent of the forest. In fact, she very early on preferred long walks to toys. It was therefore at the heart of her native Belarus that she drew her inspiration, often based on rosy tonalities. She began her career in 1965 at International Flavors and Fragrances (or IFF), in the United States, in 1965. She received guidance from one of the greatest perfumers of the time, Ernest Shiftan, whom she considers to be her mentor. She then created her compositions with passion until she reached the very top of perfumery, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1994 for her career as a perfume creator, from the organization Cosmetic Executive Women of New York. Likewise, in 1996, she was honored with the Living Legend Award from the American Society of Perfumers.

While Sophia Grosjman is interested in a wide range of scents, she specializes more particularly in rosy notes. It is to her that Eternity by Calvin Klein, Yvresse or Paris by Yves Saint-Laurent, and also Trésor by Lancôme, are owed. In fact, an anecdote lies behind this last fragrance. In reality, Sophia Grosjman had initially created it for herself. Fascinated by her own essence, she soon had it adopted by Lancôme. It met with immense success and remains, even today, one of the stars of modern perfumery. Moreover, this fragrance was very recently modernized with the appearance of Trésor In Love, a perfume reappearing 20 years later but still endowed with an unparalleled charm.

Today, Sophia Grosjman is considered to be responsible for a true revolution in the world of perfumery. She succeeded in inaugurating a new style of perfumes that are both classic and modern, becoming a sort of Picasso of perfumery.
