Sauvage Eau de Parfum
Sauvage Eau de Parfum (Dior, 2018) is the amber version of Sauvage by François Demachy. Reggio bergamot opens the fragrance, the heart keeps the lavender and Sichuan pepper from the eau de toilette and adds star anise from China and nutmeg, the base pairs Papua New Guinea vanilla absolute with ambroxan. Warmer, rounder and more tenacious than the original, it is aimed at evening wear and the cold season.

Where to buy
Already reinterpreted into a fresher version in 2017, named Sauvage Very Cool Spray, this essence keeps generating buzz. Even today, Dior has decided to reveal a new face of it. Sauvage returns in the form of an Eau de Parfum and this time is enhanced with more incandescent spices.
Sauvage Eau de Parfum by Dior, a warm juice
Sauvage Eau de Parfum is a juice heavily inspired by its predecessor. However, it displays a warmer scent than before. Thus, Sauvage Eau de Parfum retains several olfactory notes already present in its original version. Spices are added, and the whole forms a perfect blend of freshness, boldness and incandescence. Sauvage Eau de Parfum opens on the liveliness of bergamot. Then its heart ignites on contact with the spices. A Mediterranean lavender is surrounded by a trio of Sichuan pepper, nutmeg and star anise. The base of Sauvage Eau de Parfum, meanwhile, brings together a rich, exotic vanilla and a more noble but equally bewitching ambroxan.
The desert as a source of inspiration for Dior's Eau de Parfum Sauvage
Once again, Dior relied on the desert as a source of inspiration in crafting Sauvage Eau de Parfum. This is even noticeable on its bottle. Indeed, Sauvage Eau de Parfum has the same silhouette as before. However, its bluish gradient no longer moves from grey to midnight blue, but instead starts from an orange-tinted base, evocative of the ochre earth of the desert. It is a little as if the Sauvage Eau de Parfum bottle were suddenly overtaken by a sunset. Sauvage Eau de Parfum catches fire, and this warmth on the glass itself perfectly echoes the fragrance held within this clean, contemporary bottle.
Johnny Depp remains the face of Sauvage Eau de Parfum
From then on, all that was left was to pair this new juice with a face for the campaign. Once again, Dior chose to call on the talented Johnny Depp to embody the face of Sauvage Eau de Parfum. The Hollywood actor indeed joined the very exclusive circle of Dior faces of the campaign in 2015, thus joining Robert Pattinson and Jude Law. The unmissable star of Pirates of the Caribbean had already caused quite a stir for this first collaboration. For now, not all the visuals for the new Sauvage Eau de Parfum by Dior campaign have been revealed. Only two posters have been released so far by the house. The first shows the actor leaning on a rock, in the middle of a desert, surrounded by three wolves. Pensive, he seems to be facing his demons and setting out to conquer his inner self. The other poster for Sauvage Eau de Parfum, meanwhile, shows a striking portrait of Johnny Depp, whose bare torso reveals countless tattoos. The background of the poster resembles a sunset. In this sense, Dior's communication is in perfect harmony with the bottle of this new essence.

Johnny Depp, ambassador retained
Johnny Depp remains the face of the line in 2018, following the Californian road movie shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino for the 2015 launch.
The campaign accompanying the launch of the eau de parfum in 2018 again features actor Johnny Depp, already associated with the line.
The 2015 campaign, which preceded this eau de parfum, brought together Johnny Depp and director-photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino in the form of a road movie shot in the desert landscapes of California; according to WWD, as relayed by Malay Mail, the full film was to air on September 2, 2015, following a teaser released in August. In 2019, the film We Are the Land, directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino with Johnny Depp and dancer Canku One Star, of the Rosebud Sioux tribe, sparked controversy over Native American cultural appropriation.
