Fahrenheit Parfum is the parfum version of Fahrenheit, composed by François Demachy for Dior in 2014. Fahrenheit Parfum was released in 2014, more than a quarter century after the 1988 eau de toilette. François Demachy, Dior's in-house perfumer, signs the composition. The house presents it as the new intensity of Fahrenheit, in a single 75 ml size.

The harmony of opposites

Dior describes a composition where extremes blend, where flower meets leather and woods. The Fahrenheit signature is dressed here in a vibrant, sensual accord, with accents of violet and leather, heightened by a bourbon vanilla absolute.

Russian leather

The house links the leather accord to the smell of Russian leather, once used for hussars' boots and tanned with birch bark. Its perfumers recreate its burnt, smoky notes of birch, styrax and cade.

What critics say

Dariush Alavi, who writes as Persolaise, draws a parallel between Fahrenheit Parfum and Eau Sauvage Parfum: the violet leaf and the woods remain present, but softened by an enveloping vanilla. He finds it appealing and elegant, while regretting a lack of boldness and a heart less lively than that of the 1988 original.
