Sacha Guitry said that being Parisian is not about being born in Paris, but about being reborn there. Now, if there is one person who recognizes himself in this maxim, it is undoubtedly the couturier Yves Saint-Laurent. Born in Oran, Algeria, he built his entire life and career at the heart of the City of Light.
Behind the new scented cocktail from Yves Saint-Laurent, Mon Paris, it is hardly surprising to find Harry Fremont, Olivier Cresp and Dora Baghriche-Arnaud, certainly among the greatest talents in modern perfumery. For this new, more airy opus, simply named Mon Paris Eau de Toilette, it was a pleasure to encounter once again the exceptional work of this trio who, without a doubt, will keep creating magnificent olfactory works for Yves Saint-Laurent.
A dream team of perfumers for a new flight toward Mon Paris!
This might seem natural today, yet the composition of a fragrance by several hands was truly established only after the release of Anaïs Anaïs and its trio of creative perfumers employed by Firmenich. Today, this same company (among others, in fact) does not hesitate to have its greatest talents work as a team, which was precisely the case for the latest Yves Saint-Laurent fragrance released in 2016, Mon Paris, and then its very first flanker, Mon Paris Eau de Toilette.
Thus Olivier Cresp and Dora Baghriche joined their talent and research with that of Harry Fremont on the other side of the Atlantic to together compose the beautiful score of Mon Paris Eau de Parfum and then Mon Paris Eau de Toilette. It was Olivier Cresp, moreover, who composed the first lines of these three-handed works by proposing an accord of Calabria bergamot, pear and red fruits. Then, as the perfumer recounts, the story of Mon Paris was composed like a game, an exchange of theatrical lines, a story told by several voices.
As a result, Mon Paris was born in 2016 and Mon Paris Eau de Toilette in 2017, built around the luminous, chypre and floral accords of the three creators. For Mon Paris Eau de Toilette could not do without this talented trio who had brought its predecessor to life!
Mon Paris Eau de Toilette, the radiance and sensuality of a scented mad love...
Mon Paris Eau de Toilette aims to be even more luminous and airy than its predecessor, all the more so as it keeps telling the story of a mad, passionate love that, for this new opus, plays out in weightlessness. Thus Mon Paris Eau de Toilette loses nothing of the floral, fruity, and also delightfully sensual accords of Mon Paris, while allowing itself to add beautiful flourishes to make it lighter than ever.
From the very opening of this lovely Eau de Toilette, one is propelled into the air by notes of red fruits and bergamot, both very fresh and very tangy. The new heart of Mon Paris Eau de Toilette offers these tonic notes a radiant echo of white flowers built around jasmine and orange blossom. A peony accord wraps these luminous notes in a joyful burst of spring flowers. Finally, of course, the famous datura flower comes once again to hypnotize, the better to let one be captured by utterly addictive white musks and patchouli.
A loss of the senses, entirely in weightlessness. Yves Saint-Laurent on Mon Paris Eau de Toilette.
