April 2023. L’Artisan Parfumeur devotes a perfume to the peach at last and places it in La Collection, the one that brings together Mûre et Musc and Histoire d’Orangers.

A fruit that perfumery cannot extract

The peach yields no essential oil: it has to be rebuilt in the formula. The house makes that constraint the subject of the juice and speaks of unexpected ingredients to render the three faces of the fruit.

Antoine Maisondieu states the difficulty of the exercise: this is the house’s first peach, and he wanted to draw it elegantly without moving away from the fruit.

The court of Louis XIV

The house hooks its story to French history and recalls that the peach seduced the gourmets of Louis XIV’s court. The royal orchards come back in the texts of German retailers, who cite those of Chantilly.

Antoine Maisondieu

The perfumer grew up surrounded by raw materials and places his approach between the Côte d’Azur of his memories and the Paris where he works. The house describes his formulas as direct and memorable.

The eau de parfum is sold in 100 ml, at around €195, engraving of the bottle included when bought from the house.
