What the house names

Lancôme declares only three materials, one per tier: a solar grandiflorum jasmine absolute at the opening, a glazed bourbon vanilla at the center, an overdose of creamy white musk and a smooth sandalwood for the end.

The jasmine from the Domaine de la Rose

The house calls the jasmine solar and says it is powerful from the first seconds. It gives its provenance, the Domaine de la Rose in Grasse, and makes it an absolute rather than an abstract note.

The glazed bourbon vanilla

The vanilla holds the center. Lancôme calls it glazed and worked in an airy version, far from a thick vanilla. It is what carries the comparison with the pastry éclair out of which the house makes its image.

White musk and sandalwood

The word the house uses is an overdose of white musk, doubled with a smooth sandalwood. The stated intention is a trail that stays close to the wearer and merges with their own smell.

What the label declares

The list is coded: apart from the solvent, the water and the fragrance, it carries only allergens, two colorants, a filter and an antioxidant. It confirms none of the three announced materials.

Linalool, limonene, citral and citronellol hold the floral and citrus share; benzyl salicylate backs the white floral; coumarin pulls toward cut hay; alpha-isomethyl ionone gives the powdery iris.

The two colorants on the list, CI 60730 and CI 14700, tint the juice without odor. Diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate is a sunscreen and tris(tetramethylhydroxypiperidinol) citrate an antioxidant, both there to protect the formula.
