This is a derivative of the iconic Alaïa Paris from 2015, a highly couture perfume reimagined around an enormous bouquet of white flowers and sun-kissed notes.
When Azzedine Alaïa's memories resurface
When Azzedine Alaïa decided to create a perfume, he immersed himself in his childhood memories. This is how he crafted a fragrance similar to a bucket of cold water thrown against a wall of burning lime. Very quickly, this fragrance established itself as one of the most coveted scents of the fall 2016 season. It is a perfume that is both floral and musky, created by a quartet of perfumers. It owes its existence to Marie Salamagne, Carla Sozzani, Martin Szekely and Paolo Riversi. It is also a nod to the Alhambra of Granada, a true masterpiece of medieval Spanish architecture deeply marked by Oriental culture. Thus, Alaïa Paris Blanche is a kind of sun-kissed olfactory journey. It is absolutely enchanting, made of transparency while retaining its animalic sensuality. Its universe is similar to that of Azzedine Alaïa's couture house, situated at the crossroads of East and West. Likewise, Alaïa Paris Blanche is a fragrance that could almost be described as timeless. It carries the nostalgia of a memory while seeming resolutely turned toward the future.
The many facets of the Alaïa Paris Blanche woman
Alaïa Paris Blanche seems to hold within itself all the contrasts of a woman. Indeed, as Azzedine Alaïa explained: Creating a perfume is confiding in a woman, stealing her thoughts of the future and fleeing before she turns around […] My perfume comes from afar, it is a source perfume. It bears witness to no particular era, but to the emotions of all eras, it comes from no country because it has passed through them all. It is therefore all these facets that intertwine within Alaïa Paris Blanche. Its white impression comes from almond. Here it develops its milky, enveloping aspect. Thus, Alaïa Paris Blanche comes across as a comforting fragrance. Heliotrope, for its part, covers the more floral facet of this scent. This flower gives the whole composition its romanticism and femininity. Finally, the whole gradually becomes more animalic and musky. Vanilla develops its carnal, suave side here, leaving behind an impression of second skin. The whole is then contained in a sublime bottle that plays with transparency. It has retained its former silhouette. Alaïa Paris Blanche is presented in sculpted glass whose translucent body is dotted with Alaïa's perforated motif, an iconic pattern that first appeared bordering leather bustiers in the 1980s. The whole is topped with an intricately crafted cap. It represents a spool of gold thread, paying tribute to the craftsmanship of the Azzedine Alaïa house.
