Suave and powerful, Dior Homme Parfum clings to the skin of the tender and sexy man who wears it — what better than a young vampire to embody it?
A vampiric actor for a mysterious fragrance: Robert Pattinson and Dior Homme Parfum
Since its debut in perfumery, Dior Homme has been worn by fine masculine faces of the campaign such as Jude Law. Yet with the 2014 release of the intoxicating oriental Dior Homme Parfum, Dior decided to change course, this time choosing a man much younger than usual: Robert Pattinson, the dashing vampire of Twilight. By choosing this ambassador glorified mainly by a 15-25 year-old audience, Dior enters the relentless race for the love of youth — eternal, perhaps?
Whatever the case, Robert Pattinson brings this new, very masculine-chic juice an added breath of freshness and impertinence, easily dispelling the falsely implicit “men's perfume” side of previous campaigns. The commercial directed by Romain Gavras portrays a thoroughly rock and roll, thoroughly rebellious Robert Pattinson, who nevertheless seems, deep down, very tender.
Like a modern-day James Dean, the Dior Homme Parfum man does not care about clichés, playing on his good looks while tenderly embracing his sweetheart. The deliberately dark black-and-white atmosphere of the film (matching the amber color of the fragrance, incidentally) adds a touch of Dior elegance to a very Led Zeppelin visual ensemble. Finally, the visual presented in the form of “pins,” reminiscent of social media posts, once again affirms the modernity of the house of Dior and its new fragrance Dior Homme Parfum.
Intense raw materials for an original and sensual virility
Dior Homme Parfum comes in the distinctive bottle of the original Dior Homme, father of all the fragrances in the line. Designed by Hedi Slimane, the powerful, broad-shouldered glass square seems to hold the juice it preciously encloses. For this new intense opus of Dior Homme, the bottle is naturally dressed in smoky black, which brings out the originality of the steel tube as if plunged into the fragrance.
The composition of Dior Homme Parfum does not beat around the bush and puts on full display the expertise of Dior and Demachy when it comes to selecting exceptional raw materials. In the top notes, Tuscan iris and Italian oranges open the ball. Accompanied by bitter orange and aromatic notes of basil and lavender, the opening is fresh, citrus, and subtly powdery from the famous iris, which also offers facets of warm bread.
At the heart, Dior's emblematic rose, accompanied by the soft, woody wonders of Sri Lankan sandalwood, offers a unique blend of great amber virility and lovely floral femininity — a tender man in reality. Finally, the sillage is extremely sensual, blending woody notes of cedar and sandalwood with cinnamon, resting on a caramelized leather note counterbalanced by the softness of iris and vanilla.
Dior Homme Parfum represents the quintessence of Dior Homme, according to Dior. What more is there to say? This man is handsome, tender, mysterious, strong as cedar and soft as iris at once. Dior sells a dream; Dior Homme Parfum offers such a sweet reality.
