Ambre Nuit
Ambre Nuit is the unisex eau de parfum that François Demachy composed in 2009 for Dior, the fourth of the colognes born under Hedi Slimane, since folded into La Collection Privée. An amber floral silhouette for the house: an amber note in the opening, a velvety Damask rose, between shadow and light, like a shifting taffeta. Pink pepper, bergamot, ambergris, cedar, guaiac wood and patchouli according to Wikiparfum; 50, 100 and 200 ml.

Where to buy
Dior presents Ambre Nuit as a warm, nocturnal silhouette, full of contrasts: an amber note opens to reveal a velvety Damask rose, in a dance of shadows and light reminiscent of a taffeta that shifts with the light. Bold and secretive, opulent and refined, states the house, for men and for women.
Christian Dior's balls
The perfumer's note, at Dior, evokes an epicurean couturier fond of balls, a world between shadow and light where his creations played with contrasting facets under a golden glow. Wikiparfum quotes François Demachy: the accord mattered particularly to him, and he worked on it for many years before achieving Ambre Nuit.
Auparfum traces the lineage: after the 2004 trio conceived by Hedi Slimane, François Demachy's Ambre Nuit joined the collection in 2009. Birgit, on Olfactoria's Travels, describes it in late 2011 as the fourth masculine cologne of the line, all since moved into La Collection Privée, worn effortlessly by women.
What the house makes of it today
Dior sells Ambre Nuit in 50, 100 and 200 ml, engraving available, and lists it on its American page among the gourmands, under the amber and floral notes label. An Esprit de Parfum signed Francis Kurkdjian, a scented soap and a scented lotion have extended the sillage since 2024 and 2026.
