Fleur du Mâle was born in 2007, composed by Francis Kurkdjian, already the author of Le Mâle twelve years earlier. Its bet rested on a single material: orange blossom, which perfumery at the time reserved for feminine fragrances, placed at the heart of a masculine Eau de Toilette. Petitgrain opened onto a green, bitter freshness, neroli blossomed, and coumarin closed the sillage on an unabashed fougère. These notes are those of the 2007 juice: nothing today allows the claim that the 2026 version reproduces them identically.

The name pays tribute to Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du mal, and the bottle reprises the house's masculine bust, cast in lacquered white where Le Mâle had imposed it in frosted glass. This flanker signaled its belonging to the line while also marking a departure: where Le Mâle of 1995 answered with lavender and mint, this one answered with a floral whiteness, more sun-kissed, and more unexpected for a mass-market masculine.

Around it, the line has kept expanding: Le Mâle in 1995, then Le Mâle Le Parfum in 2020, Le Mâle Elixir afterward, each pushing the bust toward greater oriental density. Fleur du Mâle went the opposite way, toward light and white. This singularity explains part of the anticipation surrounding its return, with the house itself invoking the repeated requests of its admirers.

Withdrawn from the catalogue, Fleur du Mâle had, over the years, become one of the house's most sought-after references on the secondhand market. What the return does not yet reveal matters as much as what it announces: a relaunch after nearly twenty years does not imply the exact reissue of the original formula, and no source has to date published the pyramid of the 2026 juice.
