Where to buy

Also, since that day, women seem to have been enamored with them, and an increasing number of houses have turned toward olfactory treats. Nevertheless, until this year 2016, Penhaligon's had not yet given in to temptation. Well, it is now done with the fragrance Equinox Bloom. The house is pleased to describe it itself as the “very first gourmand fragrance”. Furthermore, it draws its inspiration more precisely from the English tradition of “afternoon tea”.

The very British spirit of Penhaligon's

No, Burberry is not the only British house to radiate English elegance across the globe. Indeed, Penhaligon's is another prestigious brand belonging to the English capital. It is a perfume house created in London in 1870 by a young barber named William Henry Penhaligon. Very quickly, this house was adored by British high society, notably by aristocrats and crowned heads. Today, the house attempts to perpetuate this heritage, preserving the elegance of its fragrances of old while pairing it with more modernity. This is precisely how the fragrance Equinox Bloom was conceived. It draws inspiration from the English tradition of tea to turn it into an especially modern essence rooted in today's gourmand trend. Equinox Bloom is the work of perfumer Olivier Cresp, who explains the birth of this fragrance in these terms: during one of my last visits to London, I had an incredible brunch in a refined and elegant place, where the magical atmosphere of the rooms, decorated with opulent floral arrangements, immediately captivated my senses. While admiring these beautiful flowers, I savored delicious toasts topped with honey and marmalade, and it is these gourmand facets that inspired Equinox Bloom, a modern and trendy inflection on a generous bouquet of flowers. In my opinion, this luxurious and abundant refinement reflects the perfect generosity that Penhaligon's puts into its fragrances.

The spring-like and appetizing scent of Equinox Bloom

Equinox Bloom is akin to a subtle and sweet treat. Its scent is at first very fresh and thus resembles a Cologne of old, a flagship product of the perfumery of yesteryear that made the glory days of the house Penhaligon's. Equinox Bloom thus opens with a blend of bergamot, lemon and orange. Then, a floral and elegant aspect takes over in its heart. It brims with romanticism and lets a breeze blow through made of lily of the valley, jasmine, frangipani and violet leaves. Thus, it is entirely light and feminine. Its gourmand character then appears in its base. Its sillage reveals a flavor of caramel paired with vanilla. Amber woods also complete this poetic picture, while leather brings more sensuality to the whole.
