They chose here to twist the original floral coffee accord of Black Opium with an exceptional quartet of vanillas. Nathalie Lorson states that they chose the finest varieties of vanilla, both different and complementary. More specifically, Black Opium Le Parfum contains Planifolia vanilla from Madagascar. This was already present in the very first version of Black Opium. Known for its feline breath, it is an ingredient with a scent close to that of rum, while incorporating chocolatey aromas. It is paired with Madagascar vanilla pod, deeper, and incorporating more balsamic and woody inflections. The Bourbon vanilla infusion from Madagascar, meanwhile, reveals a more precious breath, almost mysterious and spicier. It is likely the aroma most faithful to the raw material in its natural state. Finally, Tahiti vanilla absolute completes this quartet, with more sweetness and powdery, almond facets.
